STC Ep. 8: ???....

From STC's Facebook Page:

"The announcement you've all been waiting for! At the beginning of 2016, STAR TREK CONTINUES ran a successful fundraising campaign to produce the final episodes of our fan series. As promised, we've spent your hard-earned donations to our non-profit production company exactly as we said we would, and have been working around-the-clock to finish our final four episodes as quickly as possible.

Episodes 9, 10, and 11 are still in post-production, and will be released throughout the year as they are completed. Episode 8 -- "Still Treads the Shadow" -- guest-stars Rekha Sharma ("Battlestar Galactica") and will premiere at Fan Expo Dallas on Saturday, April 1!

We have even more amazing guest stars in these last episodes, culminating in a thrilling series finale by acclaimed science fiction author Robert J. Sawyer.

We want to thank each of you for your patience while we've been busy, and also for your support and encouragement throughout our run. It is our sincere pleasure to be bringing a conclusion to our beloved original series of "Star Trek" at long last. LLAP"

Excellent news!!

The five year mission complete at last!

Here's a group who set a goal and kept their promises - these guys set out to finish the 5 year mission and are doing just that (even with a few eps less because of the CBS stuff)

From September to April, they're hardly missing a beat in the release schedule. And the other three episodes over the next several months. It's gonna be a good year.

Yeah but then it is going to end and that will be sad. However, maybe having an actual ending to the 5 year mission will mitigate that. We shall see.

Any speculation on who is in the background of the EP8 poster?

They never give much away prior to release?

I'm just glad after years of episodes set after Turnabout Intruder we'll finally have an ending. Yes There's been comic and book interpretations but this makes things seem more proper!!

I've been thinking Sulu, Uhura, Scotty and Chekov were all reassigned to the Enterprise for the second mission (in the meantime Sulu goes on a mission with the Yorktown as seen in the upcoming 'A Time To Heal' fan film), but Kirk is promoted to Admiral, Spock leaves to take the Kolinhar and McCoy retired from Starfleet - I know this was meant to be made in the 1960s but I wonder if there will be references to any of that?

They've already referred to Katra, so why not Kolinahr?

I have no particular reason to believe this has anything to do with STC, but Michael "Apollo" Forest just posted: "Watch for interesting news later in the year!"

Kinda hoping, out of all the possibilities of what that means, that he's not referring to another appearance by Apollo. STC doesn't need to revisit past stories with their final 4-episode arc.

I am embarrassed to admit that I had not heard of Robert J. Sawyer before now. However he does appear to be a very accomplished science fiction writer. He is a Star Trek fan with a fondness for TOS. He has previously co-edited the book ‘Boarding the Enterprise’ with David Gerrold. He has also worked with Brannon Braga on the series 'FlashForward'.

Here is an old Kickstarter video from 2015 of Sawyer on the set of STC

I get the impression that the script for the finale of STC is in a safe pair of hands.
