Thats awesome SQUIRE!
we tried it with both our kids (now ages 15-1/2 and almost 25). My daughter resists but my son, although you couldnt consider him a 'trekkie' loved the new movie and now plans on going back to the beginning and rewatching everything.
Good luck! I think its really great what youre doing!!
Thanks, Randi. I'm also playing music, generally top-40 stuff, from the mid-60's to the mid-70's. When I was a child my sister used to play this for me and I loved it. Still do and thought she might as well.
We did it too, when my son was young, he eventually wandered from the flock, but NuTrek has brought him back into the fold.
Funny about the music, we tried that too. We listened to all kinds of music when he was younger, only he picked up the love of classical from my (now gone) dad, so he'd (my son, who is almost 25 now) would be upstairs in his room blasting classical and we would yell "TURN THAT DOWN!!"
Once my dad passed (who was my best friend) i started listening to pretty much only classical (and ST Soundtracks) and now my son listens pretty much ONLY to rock! Kharma is a bitch!! LOL!
There is another thread either here or in General trek where i posted some pictures of things little trekkers might be interested in. Dont know if you know about some of the fun things available for the little ones, like Trek Beanies, Pop up Books and a cool star trek drawing book. Will post the pics here in case you cant find that thread. And, enjoy watching Trek all over again, only this time, through your DD's eyes. Its a joy!
Bear (from STTE, but also available elsewhere on line probably ebay...also Vermont Teddy Bear has one but they are pretty expensive)
Pop up book (this is pretty awesome, its not that many pages, but it has lots of pop ups that are gorgeous, and things to open. Also the enterprise on the cover is one of those ships that swoosh,
