Again, not quite my point. The DSC season 1 ships presumably represented the bulk of Starfleet designs in the 2250's and look quite detailed and advanced, yet by TOS (or SNW, even), the design attributes look far more simplistic and less advanced. It's simply a visual disconnect that doesn't work for me, based on 50-odd years of Star Trek design attributes advancing in a relatively logical progression chronologically. And it's not just the ships. This kind of thing is why prequels almost never make logical sense.

Actually, what they had was the newer Greg Jein model built for VOY "Flashback." That's what they scanned into CGI for the DS9 Dominion war fleets.

We know all these ships are ultimately the arbitrary whims of producers and designers. The NX-01 might have literally been the Akira from First Contact had Doug Drexler not stepped in.
I’ve always enjoyed the creative aspects of Star Trek and thinking how everything can fit together into a rich tapestry despite the often haphazard development of the series over many decades, and with dozens of writers and artists.
They also used the original model on TNG and DS9. If the Flashback model hadn’t been built they would have scanned the Enterprise-B/Lakota.
Exactly this. Things don't always look "more advanced" to my eyes. For instance, the Bird of Prey in Balance of Terror looks more advanced that the Constitution class, yet plays a cat and mouse game. The Galaxy class looks huge and unweildly and doesn't speak to "more advanced" to me. Yet it is treated like top of the line.
It's very whim based and I feel like the objections I see often expose a individual preference to what is shown on screen.

Agreed 100%. I just wish they hadn't decided that DSC would have the aesthetic of some bland 2000's SyFy Channel movie-of-the-week schlock rather than something that actually resembled a ten-year prior prequel to TOS.
In what way? They still have the same details present in the DSC ships.
They are going more for a TOS-style look, rather than whatever Eaves was going for back in 2017.
The Bridge area is pretty damn similar to that of the Enterprise. Plus, I've seen the interior images Bill Krause put into the windows of his model, very SNW.
The lower saucer/Deflector dish area also seems similar to that of the Farragut. Her torpedo tube's are pretty much exactly like those of the Enterprise, plus she has ball turrets, similar to those from SNW.
She also has slanted nacelle pylons, and overall a much more detailed hull and blue glowing nacelles.
If she had a more metallic look to her, she'd look perfectly fine right next to the SNW Enterprise.

I can kinda see what you're talking about, but to me those similarities seem extremely superficial. Overall, I see little resemblance between the two ships. But, to each their own.

The spaceframes and shells were still obviously serviceable for a long time, and quite modular by design for easy installation and replacement. The internals could have been easily upgraded over time, but still appear completely identical on the outside.
With the Radiant, you have to remember that this is something that fits in nicely with Bill Krause's Tycho fleet. Although it lifts a lot of inspiration from TOS, it's more his thing than either TOS or SNW.

The Radiant model was used in the new Stargazer’s ready room to depict a past Stargazer, along with Picard’s. So whatever ‘Tycho fleet’ is, is irrelevant. The design is canon to the prime universe, and is clearly based on the TOS aesthetic rather than the DSC/SNW aesthetic.With the Radiant, you have to remember that this is something that fits in nicely with Bill Krause's Tycho fleet.
