I once saw a French MAS-49 rifle at a gun show. Instead of a bayonet lug under the muzzle, it had a telescoping white flag. Cool feature...
Ohh...the Picard Maneuver. It's all so clear now.I did, but it didn't come with a white flag so I wasn't sure.![]()
Not without precedent - the Saber-class USS Yeager was in service at the same time the entirely different Yaeger class was out there, whose class ship-of-the-line was also USS Yeager. Stupid thing to do, I know, but still...
Don't forget the two USS Prometheus
Still canon. That was an instance where the guy who made the in-joke ship wasn’t aware that ILM gave one of their models the same name. Nor was the in-joke ship meant to be taken seriously.
AH! I was not aware of that. Makes perfect sense in retrospect. It's got to be a Doug Drexler tribute to his late wife Dorothy Duder. Losing her was a massive blow so he probably wants her memorialized in Trek canon in some way.
It was probably too late, as he only died a month before filming ended. It appears on one of the bridge screens at the very least and those are practical.Great tribute for the class name. Just wish they hadn’t named it the Intrepid. I was hoping it would have been the Trumbull.
Nah, it's based off another Bill Krause design. Though it doesn't have a rear deflector.
Guess Stargazer Nacelles are the flavor of the month.
Honestly, I can't think of a reason for a rear facing deflector, from what its "Supposed" to do, which is act like a broom infront of the ship and sweep out chunks and space dust etc. Unless it spends alot of time in reverse, I don't see any reason for it, save for a "Main Deflector Weapon" which was hap hazard in BOBW..
