2 and 3 are the same.Three distinct but similar nacelle designs, same hull..or is it?![]()
These appear to have some slightly different hull details.

What differences do you see?

During combat not just before it, I expected the transponder signals to be encrypted.IIRC, all Starfleet vessels have subspace transponders broadcasting who they are, in the clear (unencrypted). I suspect it really wouldn't matter if his ship looks different or not. Any adversary would know exactly which is his flagship.
I was secretly hoping for him to appear in the E-E or a patched-together 3-engine AGT-style hotrod. What we got was a bit sloppy, but still functional.
I guess it's the difference between the Enterprise-D and, say, the Odyssey. Small but definite differences that aren't evident upon first glance but get noticed later by keen starship watchers.
The exterior of the Enterprise D and the Odyssey are exactly the same (the miniature was filmed unaltered for its DS9 appearance, and several of the shots were literal re-uses of Enterprise D footage), so this is a very apt comparison.I guess it's the difference between the Enterprise-D and, say, the Odyssey. At least I can see a difference between the Venture and the Enterprise, unlike "2 & 3" up there.Maybe he means the Venture?
Somebody said the Odyssey was slightly different in some surface respects from the Enterprise-D and I've been hearing that for a long time. They're both the same class starship but things were altered for DS9.
Yellow and green are definitely the same in that picture. Your yellow circle is around the starboard engine of the distant ship and your green circle is the port engine of the nearest ship. Both have the twin bussards in front, just viewed at two different angles. When they first show up, you can see two different nacelle types. The one (red) has more lit up bussard collectors right on the front. The (orange) one might be the same as the (green) one with two lit sections on the top & bottom front outer points.
