Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

I'll save the outrage for when the Enterprise-G appears again, but this time it's a refit with a new bridge. Almost an entirely new Enterprise, one might say...

I'm sorry, am I supposed to be grateful that my favorite ship of this entire Trek era got teased as part of the season, only to be revealed that it's already getting scuttled and then having like 30 seconds of screentime before being hastily supplanted by an antique kitbash that's inferior in literally every way?

Being pissed off at that isn't "entitlement." It should be the expected reaction to a backhanded, disdainful fake-out like this.

My jaw dropped when I discovered the Titan-A is now the Ent-G ... but then there are some plausable connections to the name Enterprise... she is a Neo-Connie class to start with, she has made some last ditch heroics to save Earth, she's very resilient, fast, well rounded scientific & explorational capabilities ... so a good candidate to be the new 'Big E' ...

The Ent-F I wasn't too sure off. It was too fanwankery, it screams of an angry youtuber who thinks a top Federation starship cannot make a difference out there in space, and will crumble to a million pieces unless it was 1000+ meters long, had 25 x uber-phaser banks, impenetratable sheilds, rapid-fire transphasic torpedos, cloak-fire and multi-vector assault capabilities ...

I've seen pics of everyone from Herman Zimmerman to Doug Drexler celebrating the Enterprise D's return. The one person I've seen or heard nothing from is Andy Probert, Not even a mention in any of the articles about the bridge set recreation. He designed the ship and the bridge set, -you'd think he'd be a guest of honor or something.

The entitlement in some fans also.

You’re not entitled to see the Enterprise F be the star of a show or something.

just enjoy spaceship

Wasn't asking for it to be the star of the show, just leave it alone to do its own adventures.. Star Trek doesn't HAVE to be aboard an Enterprise.

This is really not that important of a detail. This is not what makes a TV show good or bad.

Yes, but While I enjoyed the show, some bites of the pie didn't taste good... Did it ruin the show? No, but if it didn't exist I would have enjoyed it more.

I was just thinking today that back in some episode they showed a hologram of a Galaxy class ship with Shuttlebay 2 and 3 as the same width instead of different sizes. Was that an error or do you think there are variants like that?

So, I was right about the G ;)

Think there's a big chance that the Enterprise-G will be revealed in the season finale!

Maybe commanded by Captain Annika Hansen? ;)

In retrospect it's obvious that they refitted the Titan to have a new design for another Enterprise.

It was really kinda shyamalanesque to watch another Enterprise all the time without knowing it ;)

By the way the Pakled are precogs. They knew they were dealing with another Enterprise

Got to say, I'm just not feeling the outrage over the G.

I'd have been perfectly happy if it remained the Titan, but I'm not taking any moral offense over renaming it.

Maybe I'm just growing old and apathetic.
Didn't bother me either. Even though I disliked the design I'm totally cool with it. I also love that 7 of 9 is Captain of an Enterprise now.

He designed the ship and the bridge set, -you'd think he'd be a guest of honor or something.

I suppose his political "views" might have something to do with it.
That and some other "views" too....
