Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

The thing with Star Trek YT channels Trek yards included, is as a watcher, you don't have to hold their opinions to such a high standard. All that matters is what you think yourself. There are many channels that showcase things that others don't, so it's up to you as a consumer of consent to decide what works and what doesn't. There is no use Bashing on Captain Foley or the Commander because you are not being forced to agree with them. They are not preachers of a religion even though at times it can seem like it.. Canon is retconned and rewritten all the time in Star Trek and bent and broken many times too. So furthermore saying Canon is an absolute - a case of black and white - is only applicable at that exact moment. What was canon in 1966 is not the same as what is canon in 2023. The Star Trek use of the term was originally coined to describe 'everything that we see onscreen' to be in-universe fact and be indisputable, despite TV productions themselves having faults so it really doesn't hold up. Canon is what you want it to be and peoples opinions are their own. Don't come onto this forum and say 'f*ck Trekyards', it's not fair as they are not here to defend themselves and it's clear they put time and effort into their channel. Let's all grow up and be nice to each other.

Even the Production staff makes mistakes.

And it's up to us Super Nerds like TrekYards Duo to catch these little details.

It's not the end of the world, stuff happens.

Unfortunately, they did. Best bet is to ignore them and not reward their behavior.
The Star Trek Production staff and the fans of TrekYards don't seem to have issues with the Duo in TrekYards.

So not everybody is going to go ape-shit when Captain Foley makes a mistake and says something out of turn while drunk.

Nobody is perfect, learn to forgive and move on. That's part of what being a adult is.

The ratings for S3 prove fan interaction helps greatly, while Discovery proves badly written trek gets what it deserves - canceled.
Discovery still made it to Season 5, one more season than ST:ENT.

It did ok for what it was.

Ent still did full seasons, so it has more episodes than STD I think in 4 than STD will have in 5. Actors today in Star Trek have it easy compared to the workhorses years ago with 26 episodes per season.

Blame modern day budgeting & the Streaming-Wars for not giving them "Full Seasons" and locking them off to such weird episode counts per season.

I would've preferred 17x episode per season and split the "Season" year into 3x Trimesters.
Each episode would be generally 1-Actual Hour long of content. Any (Last Time on___ / Prologue / Opening TV Theme / Closing Credits / Next Time on ___ / Epilogue / Bonus Material) wouldn't count towards that hour time budget.
Season Opening & Closing Episodes would be a 2-Hour double episode length affair.

With 17x Episodes per Season, you can cut-out alot of the filler eps and give a little bit more depth to each story.

Have multi-ep arcs along with season long arc plot.

Except this was corrected already. The museum reveal had some VFX oversights but it wasn't TrekYards who found and pointed out the error to be fixed, the production staff already did.

He didn't make a mistake, he knew what he was saying and he meant it.
You can tell from watching any of his videos.
Ok, so you're going to boycott him because of that.
That's your choice, nobody can make it but you.

The rest of us who like the TrekYards content will watch it.

I don't think the people they hired for Discovery could handle doing 26 episodes a season in reality. Some of them would be bitching about working too hard.

So what are you going to do, complain everytime they show up

Yes. And hey, you wanna side with a dude who wishes death on a person because he made a TV show he didn't like, that's on you. You wanting to be associated with the likes of them says far more about you then it does about my complaints. Besides, it's hardly an isolated incident. And the drunk excuse is pretty weak sauce, I gotta say. Hate to be around you after a couple cocktails.

Don't come onto this forum and say 'f*ck Trekyards',

Fuck TrekYards.

I'm not convinced most of these tiny differences can't just be accounted for by different cameras/lenses, and slightly different shooting positions/perspectives.
The lights on the front of Ops/Conn are clearly a little different. The old ones were slightly lower down (Larger unlit area at the top, smaller on the bottom) whereas the new ones are centered. I don't say that to criticize it, only noting it. I don't have a problem with any small variations at all. It's so damn close, and the effort is evident. :)
