Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

Never seen this one before... I like it! Though like many others I don't love the big charcoal grey panels over and almost white hull. Gives the ships a difficult shape to read at a distance and doesn't really seem necessary when all the material for the outer hull would probably be of the same material. That said, if it was paintwork I could understand... that graphic designers still need jobs in 2400! I much prefer the aztec patterns on Star Trek ships. Makes it looks like there are many thousands of panels on the exterior that can be removed for easy exterior maintenance. The E-E model used in NEMESIS sort of has both. Very prominent aztecing plus dome darker grey sections so I'm on the fence about that one. The Sutherland and Gagarin being STO designs are also guilty of the 'high contrast' dark panelling syndrome. It removes the reminiscence to current Navy ships, those being a mostly uniform grey. Personal preference :)

The ship displays show the Oberon, Gilgamesh, Okuda, Sutherland, Ganymede, Callisto, Venture, Drexler, Huygens, Akira, Resnik, Excelsior, Clark, Ross, Magellan, Appalachia, Gagarin, Reliant, Tourangeau, Reliant, Thunderchild, Harlan, another Clark?, John Kelly, Forrest, Zheng He, Helios, Shackleton, Christopher, Sulu, Cochrane, Trumbull, Mandel, Firesword, and apparently the Pulaski (where?)
