Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

I see the Sutherland on the bottom-left panel and the Akira on the bottom-middle under Drexler. And yeah, I think that other one looks like Venture to me too.

It's too bad there aren't a few pre-timeline-split Abramsverse ships in there (Kelvin & Armstrong types). That would make some people's heads explode. :D

it's just as blurry on the startrek.com version

Yeah, the scene really isn't focused on the panels, just hoping you could get an exclusive.

I hope they release straight-on, clear shots of these types of things after the season is over, plus an interactive SF Museum tour.

The ship name above the Venture is, I think, the Callisto. This could be the Luna-class Callisto, with registry NCC-80109.

The ship names I see are:
* Gilgamesh
* Okuda
* Sutherland
* Appalachia
* Ganymede
* Callisto
* Venture
* Drexler
* Akira
* Thunderchild
* Huygens

It looks like we might be filling out the ship lists on classes already seen in Star Trek: Picard, while at the same time not introducing many new classes of ships.

The Borg are trying to stage a mass assimilation thats why they are striking when the fleet is all in one place. All previous attempts have been lone wolves.

I think it's alright they are not introducing any more ship classes in Picard. We already got the Inquiry, Sutherland, Gagarin, Ross, Connie III, Intrepid, Sagan, Excelsior II and the original Luna class. It makes sense that most of the peacetime designs from the 2250s/60s have been decommissioned or placed on low-priority duties. Ships like the New Orleans, Springfield, Cheyenne and Ambassador classes are likely relegated to the background or possibly just all decommissioned entirely. The constitution class was nearly 50 years old by the time the Enterprise A was decommissioned and they needed a heavy refit to still be practical over their lifespan.

Since all starships in 2401 are networked together, it stands to reason that older classes from before the Akira (the oldest class we’ve seen operating) have been decommissioned.
