Actually one problem with the new shows imho is that there are no apparent differences anymore between the new 23rd/24th/25th century starfleet vessels.
You can't really look at the ship design anymore to identify the time a vessel was built.
The only exception for this is now the 32rd century.

I mean, I didn't use starships as my barometer any way. Uniforms were more helpful.
But, if I'm blunt the time frame is less my concern when it comes to Star Trek stories. Star Trek has reused so many assets over the years that the idea that some forms are static (corridors being the same in the 23rd and 24th century for example) or ship classes lasting 80+ years are kind of par for the course in my Trek world.
The story is my biggest hook. Tell me that in a good way and the rest are secondary quibbles at best, annyoning at worst. A problem they are not.

I do like the idea of a new class being intentionally made as an homage to an old one.
In fact, I *think* the novelverse did something like this with the Akira class (supposedly designed as a tribute to the old NX).

The ships are nice and pretty, and seeing their technical details is fun. But the characters and story are all that really matter.

I am. Uncertain the Constitution class name is just being used, versus truly applies.

Haven't had this much fun with uniforms since that convention and people had different ideas. Variety is the spice of life.
