starring Jean Reno as Jean Luc Picard...

You know, come to think of it, there is one guy who would've made a good Picard: Vincent Casell, French actor and husband to the lovely Monica Belluci:

The only problem is he was just 21 when they cast Patrick Stewart as Picard. Oh well!

I would have loved to see Dolph Lundgren be the Captain, imagine his diplomatic dealings.

Alien of the week_1: Hello we don't like you leave immediately

Dolph: I will break you

Christopher Lambert is nominally French. He's American, from Great Neck, Long Island, in New York. Son of a diplomat, he grew up in Switzerland and France. He played the lead role in "Highlander," and before that, "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes."

Which I guess means his French accent is fine, so, as far as Francophonic qualities are concerned, he's a shoo-in. But how good - or not so good - is Lambert as an actor? Stewart was such an integral component of the series.
