The trailer for season 2 is out and it looks great. Still no DC expert so hard for me to get excited for characters i know nothing about but one new character had my jaw drop to the floor ( i know i put Spoiler Warning in the title but still)

Green Lantern's daughter??? And with a friggin Lantern!!??? Oh damn...

Wow. Thy were originally going to air this over the summer (starting in June I thought) - but by moving it back to August, I guess they are just trying to get back to the regular 'TV Season' paradigm.
Looks interesting and we finally get some version of a Green latern on screen, of the magical variety as opposed to the space spanning Oan variety for now.

Still, I'll take what I can get. ;)

So if I can remember what I've read about the GLs online, Alan Scott's daughter would be Jade right?
That was a pretty great trailer, definitely looks like this season will be at least as good as season 1.

Yes, aka Jennifer-Lynn Hayden. She has a brother, Obsidian (Todd Rice), though they were adopted and raised separately. A version of Obsidian appeared in Legends of Tomorrow played by Lance Henriksen (and Dan Payne as his younger self), and as a bit character in Justice League Unlimited. This is Jade's first screen depiction.

Jade isn’t green. Time to boycott. :)
It was nice to see GL’s finally get some love on these shows. That kid at the beginning was creepy. Felt like something from Stephen King.

Good premiere, but I confess I could've used a "Previously on STARGIRL" recap at the beginning. Last season feels like forever ago . . . .

Still: Eclipso! Jade!
I was thinking the same thing RE : a previously on style recap. I too like the first season but it's been so long like you said I was kind of going: "yeah I kind of remember something about..." with a lot of it.

The movie playing was The Adventures of Mark Merlin as in Mark Merlin who became Prince Ra-Man and later battled Eclipso. Nice Easter egg.

Also I think the creepy boy named Bruce was a nod to Bruce Gordon who was possessed by Eclipso.

I wonder if any of the villains that Courtney mentioned will show up this season or maybe next season.

So, I vaguely remember at the end of last season that there was a time skip between the defeat of the Injustice Society and Starman showing up at Courtney's front door. Are the first few episodes this season filling in that gap?
Also, does anyone know who the people were in the photos that Cindy was looking at inside the old Injustice Society headquarters - Artemis was one correct?

When Cortney is looking through the old villain files, the only names I recognized was DeVoe, the Thinker, because of The Flash, and Gentleman Ghost was in a couple episodes of JLU.

I'm not a big comic guy, just the shows/movies.

I have a feeling something will happen to the GL power battery next episode based on the trailer, and the fact it would probably be too expensive FX wise to have her using it all the time.

Me, too. They seemed to be assuming we had total recall of everything that happened a year ago.

"Did I do the right thing with Brainwave?"

(Me: "Which was again?")

"Oh, look, Cameron is back!"

("And he is again?")

Well, this premiere did a lot to remind me how annoying Courtney can be. Although I do kind of appreciate the plausibility that someone so new to the superhero game is so very bad at it.

Very slow-paced, slow-burn opener. I can see why they paired it with Superman & Lois, which also tends to lean toward family drama over action. But I enjoy that show more.

I did like the bit about the guy who discovered Pat's robot and just took it in stride as a hobbyist project. Gotta love the builder mentality.

I also liked the bit in the climactic fight that was shot from the hallway so you could only get glimpses of the battle. That was clever composition. But it's disturbing that Courtney was firing these heat beams that just tore through the furniture. What would they have done to a human body? Was she trying to kill the intruder? And why did she wait so long to ask "Who are you?" She should've used her words before resorting to force.

That vacation sounded awesome. I don’t know why her going to summer school stops them going. She’s old enough to be on her own

I guess I have an advantage - I finally watched the complete first season only a few weeks ago. I think I watched the first two episodes? right after those first aired. Than with everything going on this past year... well kind of forgot about it. I would see without recap forgetting what happened.

I plan to keep up with show now as it airs. But it seems to play better in binge viewing than having to wait weekly.

I like the show but it’s very hard to like Courtney. Yes she is young and learning. So I totally get that is what this show is about. But she often comes across like she has no regard for how her recklessness in wanting to be a superhero could hurt herself and others. Seeing the whole series in a short time it’s even clearer she is not learning anything so far. It’s less about her protecting the town than her creating an identity for herself. I hope the show really explores that.

Glad to know I'm who didn't remember a lot of what happened last season.
The opening scene with Eclipso was pretty creepy. I'm curious if that's going to tie into the rest of the season somehow. I'm assuming from the name on the mailbox that the girl is somehow related to the original Dr. Midnight.
I wonder if the other mechanic will stupick around to help out wi S.T.I.P.E.?
It looks like Cindy must be putting together her own new Injustice League.
