good stuff so far

That said-I LIKED the present tense presentation. But that's a tough style to stay in and be consistent with. However, its your story-you write it first for you and then for us, ok?
Whatever works...

Season 3 Episode 2

The ring once again spun, its lights swirling around. Look at it too much and you could get easily dizzy. The wormhole activates, sending a cannon ball style, water looking wormhole tale towards the middle of the room and rest back into the middle.

"Send the keno through"

"Keno is in route" said Rush, " Getting back details now".

"The atmosphere can hold life but the planet is in a deep freeze."

"Is there a possiblity of collecting water?" Scott said

"Well, not around the gate" Rush said, " the ice is too thick, it would take to long to collect it."

"We don't have time for this, Greer shouted. "We have to speed up this process some how"

"Ok people I know your longing to see those you care about, but this has to work".

"Well, Greer has a point". Rush said, everyone looked surprised.

Any better with the past tense? ^

See? Until you asked, I didn't even think about it, because that part of the story read well and nothing bothered me :) Only after seeing this question I recalled, "Oh, yes, there was that tense thing."

Keep going. And I agree with the others--longer instalments. Even if we have to wait a little longer, then it's fine.

Season 3 Episode 2

"OK, the plan is to send a keno through each gate on search mode?" Scott said.

"Well, Rush said that it was the best idea seeing as we have little over 48 hours to go before Destiny jumps."

"Wait. Isn't using the gates what attracted the drones?" Lt. Johansen said with a bit of worry on her face.

"Not likely", Rush said, " They wouldn't have been able to track us in FTL and probably think we are still in their space."

"Ok, back to the subject at hand."

"Colonel's right"

"Wasn't I clear the first time?" Rush said with annoyance.

Well it looks like we have old Rush back with us. Sorry were not as smart as you, sorry we don't like sitting on our asses and prefer to take action.

"Like Rush has stated so patiently all this time, we send a Keno in search mode through each gate in range"

"What about planets that look great from the gate?" asked Lt. Johansen

"We send a team through and get supplies" Greer answered.

The Colonel noded in agreement and the gate once again light up and sprunge to life. The Keno was sent through to a planet that looked like the grand canyon all around the gate. The third and final Keno went through the gate and reported of a lush and humid jungle surronding the gate. The vegetation was so thick that the opening wormhole actually created a path in a circle formation.

"Scott and Greer, your team has a go ahead".

"Ok sir"

"Lets go and remember folks don't shoot anything that doesn't attack first." Greer chimmed up with a smile on his face, remembering old times perhaps.

The teams step through the gate and find that its easily 10 degrees higher here. Sounds of strange, yet familiar animals echo throughout the jungle near the gate. The trees so high that you can't see but a small bit of light. Trees easily reaching 200ft-300ft, thick leaves and branches. Scott can see dark objects jumping through the highest branches. With their flashlights on and their jackets un-zipped, the soldiers got ready to move out.

"Ok greer you take three heading south and I will take three heading west."

"Got it. Ok lets move out".

"Leave two here at the gate with the keno and gate control pad".

Before either team can move two steps the soldier with the keno pad yells for them to stop and look at what just happened. Scott came over and with Greer at his shoulder witnessed the Keno being attacked and going black. It was so fast that you couldn't make out what happened.

"Ok. dial the gate and lets see what the Colonel wants us to do."

"Dailing sir"

"Scott! Weapons ready" Greer yelled, looking infront of the gate were black figures surronded the soldiers.

All they heard at first was what sounded like a whistle then a black cloud heading toward them. Blackness surronded the soldiers, seconds later the gate was standing there by itself, no black figures, no light, and no soldier. Not a trace that they were even there. All there was, was the sound of the jungle. Strange, yet familiar.

Season 3 Episode 2

"They haven't answered in over 9 hours" Lt. Johansen said, pacing around the bridge.

"Maybe they got lost" Rush said not looking up from the control chair.

"Not to worried are we Rush?" Lt. Johansen said standing behind him with her arms folded.

"Lets not get into this"

"Sir, this is the gate room, the gate is activating".

"Coming. Lt. Johansen your coming to, let leave the genuis to his ship."

They both got there moments afterwards and within a few seconds after entering the room Greer and two other soldiers come flying through the gate. The gate then shut-down, Lt. Johansen walked over examining the knocked-out men.

"Okay lets get them to the infirmary" Lt. Johansen said motioning for three other soldiers in the room to come help her.

"Do you see any wounds so far?"

"No". Lt. Johansen said, " they have some bruises but they look like they came from the gate entry most likely."

"I want a repor....."

"Off world activation!"

Three soldiers came in and took positions out of the way. The wormhole opens and once again soldiers come flying through the gate as if they were thrown. None of the soldiers were awake and Scott wasn't in the mix.

"I need some more help Colonel, but we are running out of personel" Lt. Johansen said crouching next to the new wave of soldiers.

"Ok, I want some of the civilians waken, but only a few."

I can't believe this is happening. Why can't this crew get any breaks.

"Rush."

"This is Rush"

"Meet Lt. Johansen in the pod area, we are waking some civilians up."

"I am rather busy" Rush said back fast.

"Just get down there."

"Okay."

"Off World Activiation"

Not again.

"Lt. Johansen to the gate room!"

Next time on Stargate's Destiny
Season 3 - episode 3

"I can't wake them up" Lt. Johansen said, covered with dirt from her adventures.

"The ship is going to jump, unless I can slow down the clock again"

"I need Chloe"

"Off world Activation!"

"Secruity to the gate room!" Greer shouts from his radio. "How much you want to bet they want there friend back"

That piece was definitely longer. I hoped you guys enjoyed it. No all my episodes won't end in a cliff-hanger.
What are your thoughts on episode 2?

I will write the 3 episode on monday and the story will contuine until friday.

I never said it was an Ice planet on that the gate was in a place during a time of deep freeze. The ice by the gate was too thick to take apart and bring back to destiny in time. Thats why the keno is on search mode, to see if there is any thinner ice and or actual water further from the gate.

"the ice is too thick" is a pretty lame reason not to collect it for water. Man uses these things called "tools" to accomplish tasks. Breaking ice is not difficult - just ask the eskimos. If you want a better reason not to use the frozen planet, just say the ice is carbon dioxide like the polar caps of Mars.

Yes man can use tools but I ask you did the stargate team bring these tools that we use today. Also the whole thing is about time, it would take a team of five to break down the ice near gate more hours than the ship can afford.

The author has spoken, so shall it be.

The author needs to put more research into what he's writing. Sad really, because I gave you the information to make it read better.

I have taken it into heart. what I didn't want to reveal but now I am forced to is that the ice planet story contuines, you hear more details. thats the reason why I put the keno on search mode.

Season 3 - episode 3

The gate once again sprang to life, lights swirling around the metal ring. The gate locked and then three more soldiers came thrown through. This time scott was with them, he was thrown futher into the gate room, almost hitting Young standing at the end.

"Lt. Johansen to the gate room, the rest of our men have arrived!"

"Rush, I want to know what happened?"

"I can't tell you." Rush said, busy looking at the short keno recording.

"Well, what did the keno record?"

"Not long, mostly trees" Rush said, " then a dark cloud and the keno either died or shut off."

"We have to wait until our people wake up before contuining"

"We don't have time, who is left?" Rush said

"A few soldiers, we might be able to wake-up some people like Chloe, Camile, and Brody"

"Sounds like we don't have a choice" Rush said looking tired, "never an easy day on the Destiny."

Rush and Colonel Young went to the pod room and began waking up Camile, Brody, and Chloe. Each wake up and are told about Eli. Chloe and Camile cried a little, but eventaully asked how they could help with the current situation. Brody was sad as well, but he asked right away what he could do to help.

"Chloe?" Scott asked disoriented.

"Yes, matthew, its me." Chloe said with tears in her eyes.

Scott, what happened?"

"I don't know Colonel, it..they... something attacked us."

"What do you remember?"

"Blackness and then Chloe."

"Colonel!"

"What?"

"They're all waking up now."

Season 3 - episode 3

"T.J!" Lt. James yelled

"Yeah?" Lt. Johansen said coming over covered in sweat.

"I think the fall in the gate room popped out my shoulder."

"Ok, Greer." Lt. Johansen yelled across the room.

"Yes ma'am?" Greer said running over to were she was in the room.

"Lt. James popped her shoulder out, can you push it back in?"

"Yes Ma'am."

"T.J is there any soldiers ready to go back out?"

"I don't know Colonel, T.J said," Only a few have serious injury the rest are just beat up".

"Do any of them remember anything?"

"Nothing more than just shadows, a whistle noise, and then darkness coming on them."

"Scott."

"Sir?" scott said, with Chloe at his side.

"Come to the bridge, we have more keno footage from the two other planets."

"Sir." Scott jumped to his feet and walked with Colonel to the bridge.
