A video game would probably be a good platform for a continuation. You don't have to bother that much with health problems if you get RDA for voice acting and maybe some performance capture. The whole SG Team idea is perfect for a multiplayer/coop game. You could add new stories continuously with DLCs, and could basically tell interactive TV episodes. 24 new missions for each "season" DLC.
Both the X-Files and Full House were limited series runs; which is akin to the telefilms I mentioned, as opposed to full seasons of TV. I imagine the Gilmore Girls is similar. In a television landscape in which we get late continuations of X Files, Gilmore Girls and Full House, I wouldn't say it's unrealistic.
I am too. I actually wouldn't mind if the new film spawns a serious in a similar way to SG-1, but takes it on a whole different path. I know that there is a serious of novels that were written as follow ups to the original film, with some similarities to the show, and some major differences.A for me. I loved SG-1 and SGA, but the time has passed for more of either. I'm excited to see a new big-budget take on the premise.
As far as SGU goes, am quite fond of the cliffhanger finale we got. There's something about them all being frozen for thousands and thousands of years. Poor Eli, though.
