Game Starfield

It's a shame so many people aren't enjoying it (not just here but on Social Media too) - it had the potential to be a masterpiece. I'm enjoying it but it was massively overhyped. Can't imagine I'll be installing this again in 5 or even 10 years like I did with Skyrim.

I was playing another game and I had audio issues with that game. I am thinking that I may have to buy another XBOX X as the one I have could be defective. It sucks as they are expensive to replace.

Just played the Sabotage mission and I can’t complete it since the person I have to meet at the end is spawned outside the map. Thats the second time that’s happened now.

Transportation is finnaly here. Can explorer planets at last.

I just tried it on the S and it is ok, but i still prefer quality at 30 fps as for me i don't really really need it to be a fast doom like 60 fps shooter, as i find the combat part of the game is quite solid on quality at 30 fps on ground and in space......but more options are always good.

I know players asked for it, but the rover is really pretty hopeless. It slews around worse than a drunken cat on a hardwood floor and the terrain on almost all planets is so rough you can't really use the boost to drive it at top speed without smacking into something.

If the jump thrusters weren't linked to the same energy bar as the boost (so you could jump obstacles at speed) it might be more useful.

I certainly wouldn't use it in combat (unless they're planning a segment in Shattered Space that forces it) as the laser is underpowered compared to my own Va'ruun Inflictor.

EDIT: Actually, the slewing is an issue with the driving mode (dynamic) which can be changed in settings. The issues with terrain are still a thing.

Bethesda have also added a new quest in Creations - Escape. It's 500 Creation Credits (£4.99 in the UK) but I think it's worth it - there's scope to replay it several ways. Without going into too much detail, after agreeing to participate in a "scientific study" you'll essentially be kidnapped to a starstation without your gear and have to work through puzzles to escape. There are two other NPCs trapped with you and you'll need to work with them - at least initially - to progress.

I thoroughly enjoyed Starfield and am looking forward to another playthrough the DLC drops. I honestly don't understand the hate for this game.

At some point I need to get back to it. Hoping the bugs and glitches have been worked out for the most part. Certainly don't hate it. Just found it distractingly glitchy out of the gate.

Its a lot better. Especially now you can favour performance over visuals, or set the frame rate. I get the odd crash, but I think it's because I have 12 large outposts, 3 homes, 10 ships and hundreds of legendary items. Being on Xbox Series S doesn't help either, but like I said, it's WAAAY better.

I had very little issue with it on my first playthrough. I honestly can't think of a bug that was memorable.

There was a main story bug where I got detained and sat in a jail cell staring at two guards. Restarting the game each time wouldn't help, as it started when I warped in around the main world (forget the name) and orbital security instantly snags you and whatever choice you try to make, you wind up going to the cell. After that, I lost interest. Same thing happened with me and Cyberpunk, and I never went back to that one. Took them a couple months to put out a patch and by that time I was kind of soured on the experience. I do need to pick it up again, I just have way too many other things going on right now.

I played Cyberpunk late, and had an absolute blast with it and to be honest I would put it up there with the greatest games of all time.

I managed to delay Cyberpunk enough that I think I squeaked through without too many problems. One big issue was a mission that just wouldn't trigger no matter what I tried, so I started a second game with a new character and got to the same point days after they patched it.

Ended up playing it four times for the four decent endings.

My one issue with Starfield is that I still have a "lost" outpost in the Delta Pavonis system. There was an issue with moving the outpost marker, and it would make the planet marker vanish. God knows where it is, but it lies somewhere in a sweet spot where multiple resources are extractable. Maybe someone can add a fast travel menu in Creations someday.

Bought this game and was very excited about it.
I have not played it in months because of issues that have not been resolved since the beginning.

How many updates does it take for the merchant in New Atlantis to stay in the store? Or for that matter the ship mechanic at the starport? How many missions are still bugged and won't conclude?

I had high hopes for this game. I wanted to be Mal Reynolds in my Firefly cruising the 'Verse.
Instead I'm having more fun all alone in the Canadian wilderness playing "The Long Dark" and having a better time.

The biggest problem with Starfield is that it is Fallout/TES in space without the immersion that lets you get lost finding interesting things to do wherever you are, finding interesting things in the world that make you wonder “what happened here” (environmental storytelling). AND also without the in built lore that allows players to dive into role playing and their own imaginations. Even the in game books lack when compared to TES which has actual stories and lore in the ones you open (Starfield is the TikTok version - you get a sentence or two followed by … and often feel dumber for having bothered hoping there’d be some content there).

It’s got some great quests and fun things to do but you can’t fill the void of space with more void.
