Can't say I agree with his opinion about Rey. I thought Rey was interesting from the very beginning and the high point of this entire trilogy. Without Daisey Ridley, this trilogy would have been a lot worse.

Agree about Rey. Disagree about Ridley. I don’t think she was bad, but I don’t think she really elevated the character. Felt she was the weakest of the new cast.

I have seen the film a third time. One of my questions is, what happen to the Tantive IV? The last we see of this ship it is being struck by Sith lightning and is heading down to the surface of Exegol. It is not seen as the fleet departs and it is not seen landing. I believe we see Nien Nunb being at the controls of the ship. He is not seen in the celebration on the jungle world. So, if the Tantive IV did not recover with Nien Numb at the controls, this would be one more legacy character who died.

Is it specifically meant to be the Tantive IV or just a ship of the same class? I assumed it was the latter, especially since some of the EU sources said the Tantive was destroyed by the Devastator after Leia was captured. But I might be wrong.

The impression I got is that it was just another of the same class of Corellian corvette/blockade runner and not the same ship from ROTS, Rogue One and ANH.

Per Wookiepedia:
Many years after the end of the Galactic Civil War, a former Imperial senator discovered the remains of the Tantive IV lying decrepit in a hangar in the Yarma system. Sympathetic to Leia's cause, the senator repaired the former consular ship and returned it to her as a gift. Leia used the vessel as her personal flagship from the Resistance base on Ajan Kloss. Given the lack of barracks on the moon, most of the Resistance support crew lived and slept aboard the Tantive IV when not on duty.[14] The starship was later used by the Resistance in the a battle against the Sith fleet on the planet of Exegol.[12]

I wasn't aware of the backstory prior to looking it up, but I do recall reading it was supposed to be the Tantive (god, I can never spell that right the first time).

Also, its apparently not the Tantive IV in Revenge of the Sith. It is (no joke) the Tantive III.

Isn't continuity fun?:biggrin: I do recall reading about the ROTS ship being retconned later into the Sundered Heart, although the original intent was that it was an earlier version of the Tantive.

I mean, you look at the two ships and they are definitely different. The III has a much bigger set of engines. But still, the Tantive III in Episode III? The Tantive IV in Episode IV? I agree with Eddie.

Sigh.

lol

Yeah, of all the flaws in these movies, the cast isn't one of them and certainly not Daisy Ridley.

I honest;y can't think of a reason why Vader *wouldn't* have ordered the ship destroyed. I mean they were faking the death of an Imperial senator and putting out the story that all aboard were killed.

I'm just going to pretend that the one in this movie is the Tantive IX. Because: numbers!

I don’t think that happened, but whatever you have to do to convince that you were right to throw a tantrum over a movie.

You don't need to be triggered.

As stated, I'm not a fan of this material. I'm more engaged by the corporate politics of the business and the fallout to come.

QUOTE="Turtletrekker, post: 13191318, member: 2270"]Midnight's Edgelord was not the source of the leaks. He got them off of Reddit.[/QUOTE]

Never said they were the source. They found the specific leaks among many that were legitimate, and confirmed them.

We shall see if what they've reported about Matt Smith's dropped role in TROS turns out to be legitimate as well. I anticipate this will be another 'Justice League' situation where all the production challenges will gradually be brought to light.

I don’t think you’re taking in what I’m saying. When I say it’s overstated I don’t mean that it’s not a big issue. Im saying lots of people seemed to use it as a way to excuse the negative buzz surrounding TLJ. It fitted into this general idea that people didn’t like the film for reasons other than it might have been bad.

I’m not really ‘new’. I just don’t post all the time.
Of course it isn’t a big deal to you, you aren’t one of the minorities who gets attacked.

There is going to be an expanded edition of the novelization coming on March 3rd, according to the morning news.

Additional material is supposed to cover Lando's story.
All of the novelizations have been "expanded edtions" with extra scenes.
And sure enough the opening scene apparently takes place on Mustafar where Vader kept all his stuff (though I still think that could have been made more obvious with a cool establishing show of Kylo actually storming Castle Vader instead of stabbing blokes in the midst of a forest fire (also a forest on Mustafar?! Weird.)
According to the article I read the other day, the forest was planted by the people who moved onto the planet after Vader was defeated. Apparently the planet used to have forests and they were trying to bring them back.
This isn't about TROS, but I don't know where else to post it.
I just found out that Starkiller Base was Ilum, so I was wonder what does that mean for the galaxy's supply of kyber crystals? Are there other places with the crystals, or will future Jedi, if Rey does try to restart the Order again, not be able to have lightsabers now?

So they regurgitated information for clicks?

That's what I don't get about a lot of the popularity around these YouTube channels. Basically, they read articles and comment on them, more often than not reaching taking the smallest nugget of potentially negative information and blow it completely out of context. OR, they pull random bits of information out of their asses and suggest its "inside info."

A part of me is disgusted by what they do. Another part of me wishes I would have thought of it first. :p
