An upcoming book has a close up of one of the two walkers seen on Starkiller base. This is one of the walkers seen in a few of the wide shots of the snow plains, not the ones you see during Hux's speech.

I have never liked the presence of the Imperial walkers in the movies. I found them rather clumsy . . . like some of the weapons shown during the Battle of Geonosis in "Attack of the Clones".
