Star Wars: The Clone Wars S4

Well that sucks. I assume there's a few episodes in the can already, but probably not all of season 5.

Tonight's episode Friends and Enemies seemed like filler. Not bad, but still filler.

I think they said his work on Season 4 was done.

I thought this was another really good addition to the current storyline. Speaking of Abercrombie, I was glad to see Palpatine feature in this a lot with his classic manipulation of Anakin. Rex hanging around Palpatine...that might be a problem.

Matt Lanter confirmed that 100 episodes had been completed back in September [2011], so that would be around a dozen episodes of season 5 at that point.

5x01 89th episode
5x02 90th episode
5x03 91st episode
5x04 92nd episode
5x05 93rd episode

There's no formula. I don't go in, sit down, and meditate to get into Anakin or anything. I've been working with the character now for five years. I've watched the films plenty of times. We've recorded over 100 episodes, so it's not hard to slip right into it.

If it's been four months since then, they could've easily completed recording the entire fifth season by now. It doesn't take very long to record the voice tracks for an animated episode.

Filoni stated back at Celebration V last fall that they were well into season five in terms of scripts being completed so yeah I wouldn't be surprised if the season was nearing completion or finished. I'm sure we will get info at SDCC this year and especially Celebration VI.

could anyone recommend some eps with really great space battles? the effects are amazing and i love it.
anyone?

The Manevolence trilogy (which you've likely already seen) is the only one that stands out in my mind as having a lot of space combat. It's peppered throughout the rest of the series in a way that doesn't make its way into the summaries of the episodes on Wikipedia, which I'll admit doesn't help much. I want to cite a few episodes where space battles take place but aren't the major focus.

But hey, last night's show was better than last week's and there was a remarkable ship:
The bounty hunters were in possession of a SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000, the very same model of Lando's Lady Luck

One of the major problems I've had with suspension of disbelief in this story since last week was Anakin's force sensing not being an issue. I'm glad it was at least mentioned. I'll have to reserve judgement on that for next week.

Some famliar gear at the Rodian's pawn shop. Cad Bane passed in Indy's fedora...no accounting for taste.

Does everyone get a tail-headed chick in the Star Wars universe? Wish i lived there!

I think the first season had a couple of good space battles. We saw the Republic fleet in the "Clone Wars" movie I believe, don't remember if they actually engaged the Separatists. It's been a while since I've seen the movie.

does anyone know the episode where dooku commands one of those 'tactical droids' to pull a ship out and the droid says 'but that will result in our defeat' and dooku responds with 'yes i know and the droid responds 'by your command'.

i can't seem to find it. i know dooku appeared as a hologram

That would be "Nightsisters" (Season Three), when Dooku is forced to betray Ventriss in mid-battle and leave her to her fate.

yea, thanks man. i've experienced the exact same thing. even reading wookiepedia doesn't seem to help.

those malevoence eps were pretty awesome. do you know the ep i asked about earlier? the one where the tactical droid tells dooku 'but that will destroy our fleet' and dooku says 'yes' and then the droid follows the order?

thanks i'm gonna check it out now.

Tonight's episode was great, but I just thought we finally get a 4part Obi Wan episode and it's not "really" Obi Wan.

I think it's still the Obi-Wan character doing the voice but it is ironic it's "not really" Obi-Wan.

Really enjoyed this episode. An intense and suspensful maze they had to cross. And Bane killing the dude simply because he had his hat was awesome.

Yes, James Arnold Taylor, who voices Obi-Wan, is also voicing Rako Hardeen. So the accent and the pitch are different, but the basic performance style and delivery are much the same.

I didn't care for this one too much; the Box felt too much like a video game, and in the context of a CGI show that's unfortunate. I guess maybe people who like playing computer games might enjoy that, but I wasn't crazy about that.

Although I did love the moment where Bane saved "Hardeen." That was a nice, unexpected payoff to the arc between the characters in this episode.

And if the abduction of Palps is going to be on Naboo, I guess that confirms this isn't the same abduction plot that led into RotS, since that was from Coruscant. Maybe this one fails but the conspirators resolve to try again, so it ends up being all foreshadowy 'n' stuff.

My DVR failed to record it. :( I had to reset the box to record anything tonight unfortunately I wasn't at home earlier when the episode aired. Good thing I can record it tomorrow morning.

I loved that Samurai Ninja whatever bounty hunter, that dude is tres cool. And tonight's little tagline was good too: "The strong survive, the noble overcome.".

The platform thing was very Mega Man. We should have seen Dr. Wily on Dooku's payroll.

anyone know what dooku just didn't commission elite magna guards to capture the chancellor instead? surely he could ask the holotech engineers to create some?

Same reason Vader didn't use them in TESB? Maybe it's cheaper to hire a few expendable bounty hunters than to invest the resources that would be required to create highly sophisticated pieces of droid technology. (The rank-and-file combat droids are presumably so stupid and inept because they're simple enough to be mass-produced.)

Or maybe it's just because Star Wars is a fantasy and has never really made any pretense of being plausible. Dooku's using bounty hunters because bounty hunters are an established conceit of the SW universe and the writers wanted to do a story about them.
