Star Wars:The Clone Wars S3......so far

From what I can tell there is no such thing as permanent Star Wars cannon.

Really the only major problem that hasn't been addressed is the Jedi countenancing the immoral creation of clones as cannon fodder.

Shouldn't that be "canon fodder"?

I did like Anakin crowing about how he's "popular with the ladies."

Yep, smug overconfident douchebag lifted right from the present day.
What an "improvement".

He might not be book-smart, and he's not as savvy as he'd probably like to believe, but he certainly isn't a moron.

He's a walking contradiction, that one! Given the fact that imaginary alternative forms of "smart" were invented by stupid people in an attempt to get over their own stupidity, which category does Anakin fall into? Is he "ladies-smart"? "Saber-smart"? Or is it "douchey-smart"?

Maybe it's an undersized clone of Darth Maul, and its name is... Mini-Maul.

(Note: I hate making an Austin Powers reference, but I couldn't resist doing some kind of "mall" pun and the cloning suggestions made it a natural.)

No, wait: Maybe it turns out to be the son of Darth Maul and Shmi Skywalker, and his name is Sky-Maul.

If his tattoos were red, white, and blue, would he be Maul of America?
Put the Whiskey Bottle down, Chris.

Despite the risk of spoilers, my curiosity got the better of me and I read the Filoni interview, but there was nothing spoilery, hooray!

Filoni: Well, George and I will talk about current events when they come up, but I try to take The Clone Wars out of the realm of being too ripped from the headlines. George and I don’t talk about what character or event will represent what’s happening in the real world. The Clone Wars is more about dealing overall with life during wartime, in which there’s always political strife.

GOOD! Where sci fi goes wrong is making dopey direct parallels to current events that are ham-handed and obvious. I just notice the ways in which they don't match the parallels, and then it all gets too distracting. Keep it at a more abstract level. "This is what happens to a society under stress."

^ Meh. Not really spoilery...touches on episodes we've already seen and on the tone of the show. I didn't really see many spoilers.

For those who care, here are the ratings from friday:

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (TOON)
- 2.210 million viewers
- 1.2/2 HH
- 0.5/2 A18-49
- 1.6/7 T12-17
- 2.3/8 K2-11

I enjoy reading Filoni's interviews...his enthusiasm and passion for Star Wars and the show in general is infectious. Lucas clearly hired the right person for this job, or at least knew what he was doing. I enjoyed his audio commentary for the "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" movie.

^ Personally I'd love Filoni to show run a New Jedi Order CGI series. Get Mark to reprise his role as Luke Skwalker as he struggles to rebuild the Jedi Order, Carrie Fisher can reprise Leia Oranga and Harrison Ford (probably would have to offer an arm and a leg to him) for Han. It'll never happen but I'd love to see it.

I'm certain they could find convincing voice actors for any or all of the characters, if need be. I wanna see what happens right after ROTJ. I also wanna see what happens between ROTS and ANH. And I wanna see ROTS re-done as the finale to TCW. Those guys got a lot of work to do! :rommie:

That would be awesome, but I don't think they have the guts to even tell the story. As dark as TCW can be at times, the Vong make the Seps look like bunny rabbits, to say nothing of the number of Jedi that died during those books.

Here's an interesting tidbit, the Cartoon Network year end wrapup. TCW is their best performing series.

Cmon, Lucas and Filoni, keep the story going beyond ROTS. Why stop when you're on a roll?
Isn't up to the network on how many eps. they want the show to run for? Isn't that why shows like Superman:TAS & Justice League UnLimited got cut short?

Lucas is making them off his own back and selling them to the network. If CN tells them to jog on, he can either sell them to another network, or, push comes to shove release them straight to DVD/VOD.

Although seeing as TCW is their best performing show, I doubt that will happen any time soon.

Oh, is that what he's doing?
Clever man.
