And I have to admit, as cool as it is to see the Death Star and AT-ATs again, a part of me still prefers the idea of the rebellion only seeing those things for the first time in ANH and ESB...
Takes place during the first line of the opening Crawl of a New Hope
Ahh, my bad... mixing my movies up with whom sacrificed when. That only works on Abrams, and he has nothing to do with this movie.
ANH gives no indication what happened to the people who stole the plans for the first Death Star. All we know is many Bothans died obtaining the plans to the second one. Indeed, if the guy with the moustache in the cast photo released last year is in fact Biggs as many have speculated it might be, that would indicate someone survives this operation, even if he ends up dying not long afterwards.
Admittedly that crawl can be interpreted many ways, but the text you have put up does not state the plans were stolen from the Death Star itself, rather a first victory was won against the Empire to steal its plans. Could be the Death Star, an Empire base, somewhere on Coruscant...Takes place during the first line of the opening Crawl of a New Hope
That was the impression that I got too, that she was forcing herself to say yes sir.I think it's the context. "Forcing across a 'hard line' to the management" is exactly the impression I got. It sounded forced because it was. Making yourself to say "Yes sir" when you aint used to saying it to nobody, can sound a little contrived. This was seconds (in the trailer) after Mon Mothma characterized her as, "On your own from the age of fifteen. Reckless, agressive, and undisciplined." And immediately after that fellow says "Is that clear?" in an unambiguously patronizing manner... Yeah, it sounded forced: probably because she'd rather have spit in his eye than say it out loud, for anyone (including her own ears and personal pride) to hear. My take. Sold me.
As for the previous lines about "rebellion", I couldn't see her face for any of the delivery other than the summation, "I rebel." Sounded a little smart ass, but then Mon Mothma's reaction summed that up instantly. It was. Maybe that's why they like her for this mission.![]()
After seeing your post, double checked the footage and it is a hooded cloak, not a helmet and cape, so I'm pretty sure it's not Vader. He's been voicing him in a recurring capacity on Rebels recently, so I'd say it's likely. That figure doesn't look like Vader to me though; it looks like robes and a hood. I wonder whether we'll see Ian McDiarmid and/or Jimmy Smits make an appearance?
Intriguing, but at some point Disney has to stop leaning on nostalgia.
Obi-Wan on Tatooine. The question is, where will they go with their third Anthology film? That one will come out after Episode IX.

Daisey Ridley's poor line readings in some of the Tatooine sections of TFA
I think most of the anthology films will be at least somewhat based around nostalgia. They seem to using them to explore specific events or characters introduced in earlier movies.
Star Wars is entirely based on referencing itself, it's like Arrested Development without the jokes. It's why we have that meme of George Lucas saying "It's like poetry, it rhymes" as he went into detail about ripping off his own material.Intriguing, but at some point Disney has to stop leaning on nostalgia.
If they do it like a western with Obi-Wan as a reluctant hero forced into action by his own morals it could be really great.Obi-Wan on Tatooine.
Agreed. The numbered episodes can keep the story moving forward, the anthology movies can flesh out stuff that happened before or around the time of the movies. Makes sense to me.I think most of the anthology films will be at least somewhat based around nostalgia. They seem to using them to explore specific events or characters introduced in earlier movies.
