Spoilers Star Wars: Resistance season 2 discussion

I asked this question back in the middle of November after the episode with the archaeologist and the Sith Temple:
So have we jumped to a point in time that is past the end of TLJ?
After having seen The Rise of Skywalker
it's now blatantly clear that not only was this after TLJ, but some distance past it, since Kylo's hunt for Sith artifacts likely only started with the broadcast mentioned in the opening crawl

Wow, that was a really good episode, probably the best episode of Resistance.

Animation was fantastic, some really great perspective shots, and great work on the mood and atmosphere too.

I was quite surprised when they actually showed Synara (and later Yeager) being tortured. And then Kaz was disappointed when he found out the blaster was only set to stun when he shot Pyre.

This show is finally taking off. Even CB-23 had to hang on at the end!

Definitely the best ep since last season. The Kaziness from Green dude and Kaz was really getting on my nerves, but the rest was very good.

I found the episode to be largely meh, though the scenes with the star destroyer and the Colossus at the gas giant did look beautiful.

Nice. Finally some more CC.
^^ Is that the ship that Finn was boarding at Maz's castle when the First Order attacked (TFA)?

Well, I enjoyed seeing the battle droids again, super or otherwise. I hope we see B1 again in one or two of the final episodes.

Okay Neeku, you can stop complimenting me now.

While I agree seeing B1 is a hope, I'd also like to see either an episode here or maybe in Manalorian where the Battle Droids are serious business and not comedic relief.

But that's just me wanting the TV series to flesh out, redeem, and validate (wrong word) some of the hokier aspects of the movies. You know, like Mandalorian has done with the blurgs and Life Day.

Actually a pretty good outing this week. And it's totally a crime they show has barely done anything with Griff up until now. His sarcastic attitude was awesome and his backstory and how it ties with Doza's was really interesting. Damn it, only near the end do they realize they had a gold mine all along.

I would have gladly settled for an entire season set after this episode. This felt like just about the first time they were intentionally involved in the war.

Honestly, I think the whole approach to this show has been somewhat backwards. The first season was almost a 60/40 split between FO & Resistance related plots and just random character hijinks episodes, while the second has felt like the opposite. Indeed, here we are in the literal final stretch and we still have barely gotten to know the Aces.

It seems like they way the show should have been constructed was to ditch the "Kaz is a spy" set-up and start the whole thing on the Colossus with the racing being the focus of the protagonist's plot (think how Pro-Bending was featured in the early episodes of 'Legend of Korra') and only slowly over time is the FO and Resistance brought into it as a background element, with maybe Poe showing up to recruit the naive Kaz around the first mid-season break?
That way you have the whole first season to get to know the full cast before all hell breaks loose and literally all of season 2 would have been them hip deep in the war.

I know it's aimed at a younger demo than even Rebels, but surely there's a way to do this without making the protagonist a moron. Right now they're in a weird position where the 'Lego Freemaker Adventures' show felt like it had a better balance of comedy, action and drama.

No doubt. There's a reason this show is only getting 2 seasons: it's because they didn't want to make any more. It feels like a placeholder show that they just kind of threw together after Rebels was done. It was never envisioned or planned out to be some grand epic story.

Hey, remember when the whole plot of the show was that Kaz was supposed to figure out who was spying for the First Order on the Colossus? And then that plot just got pretty much completely dropped?

Have we even seen Flix or Orka in the last 11 episodes?

I don't want to sound like a hater, because I have liked a lot of what they've done this season. And I certainly like a bunch of the characters. And I'm looking forward to seeing how it all ends next week.
