Star Wars Rebels Season Three (spoilers)

So, Rex gets shot in the shoulder and the helmet and Ezra got shot in the ?hand? yet they were all fine. Were even the droid's blasters supposed to be weaksauce?

I believe the explanation was that these droids were old and degraded. Had they been up to specs they would have probably won this day. Rex's stuff can work because the old Phase One Clone Trooper armor could sometimes shrug off blaster fire. Also part of Rex's complaints about Stormtrooper armor being junk.

I think Ezra's lightsaber hilt was grazed, but I can't really tell. So very close to his hand.

Seems Rex was at both the first and now last battle of the Clone Wars. Assuming Rex was talking about the First Battle of Geonosis and not the Second Battle we saw in the Clone Wars series. Though the Second Battle was quite tough as well given how Anakin Skywalker fights.

Pretty sure he said in the second battle of Geonosis episode of TCW that he did not in fact fight in the first battle. Though it might have been Cody who said that, I forget.

Do they really not have ray shields in the Empire era? What about the force field around the second Death Star?

It's nice that Ezra almost figured out that both sides in the war were set up to lose in order to pave the way for Palpatine's takeover. He did recognize that the Empire took advantage of both sides' weakness, but I don't think he's quite pieced it together that Palpatine was arming and manipulating both sides to make the Clone Wars happen in the first place so he could get the Senate to give him more and more power in response to the crisis.

Cody specifically stated he was not at the first battle to Obi-wan who gave him the quick version of his fighting in the arena. I don't think Rex ever said.

The thermal exhaust port on the first Death Star was said to be ray shielded, so yes, they do. It just seems like they don't use them for internal security like the Separatists used to. I would assume part of that is because a ship crewed mostly by droids is more vulnerable to boarding actions and blast doors don't hold Jedi for long.

Well to be fair he doesn't have anywhere near enough of the pieces to put it all together. I don't think anyone in the rebellion knows Palpatine is a Sith. Even if Yoda & Obi-Wan told Bail he probably kept it to himself, at least for now.

Having said that, Luke didn't seem at all surprised in RotJ so they must have known by then.

That was Cody. I only remember that because I had a bit of a Clone Wars binge fest back in the summer, so a lot of it is still fresh in my mind.

I stand corrected. Still, you'd think it would have come up before now if he was a part of that first battle.

Almost be funny if Rex was the trooper that fell out of the gunship with Padme as the group chased down Dooku.

According to wookieepedia, Rex is mentioned to have served in the first battle of Geonosis in the Clone Wars episode "Duel of the Droids"

Though only on his Legends page, guess the canon page is still not completed.

Had a quick look for myself and it seems what they're actually citing is the "decoded" version of the episode, which apparently was just a re-screening back in '09 that featured a bunch of extra little on-screen trivia pop-ups. I double-checked a transcript of the episode to be sure and Geonosis isn't even mentioned in the episode dialogue. There's also some citations of older (now outdated) reference books, none of which I have access to to confirm or deny and even if I could, they're not exactly canonical.

So it's inconclusive. He may have been talking about the first or second battle, though the latter seems more likely since 1) we saw him there and 2) as previously stated, you'd think it would have come up sooner otherwise.

^Fun fact: "Saxon" was the name of one of Maul's top Mandalorian Lieutenants and one of the ones that rescued him from Sidious. Apparently he's prone to switching sides to whomever seems the strongest.

Watching the extended interview of Pablo Hidalgo from the Star Wars Show, I realized something. I applied for that same job at Lucasfilm back around 1999. I was still in college though and likely did not have anywhere near the skills needed. I was a bit more local though. An hour commute, I think, to the Ranch, depending on the traffic at the bridges.

Tiya Sircar, who voices Sabine has just started what appears to possibly be a recurring role on The Good Place.

Ok, so I watched the first episode of this season (mostly to have a more legitimate opinion on something for an argument that I won't be bringing here). I had actually meant to watch the Hera/Thrawn episode, but got the episode wrong :alienblush: I'll just list some pros/cons, instead of making a more detailed write up:

Pros:
-Tom Baker is awesome, and his character was a lot better then I expected
-The story wasn't terrible, its a situation I could see happening to the OT cast during the Rebellion
-Ezra actually got in trouble for his bone headed decisions, and he actually would have lost and gotten a lot of people killed if he hadn't been allowed to escape
-Kanan's stuff was literally the most interesting plot the character has had in any episode of Rebels I've seen
-Sabine and Zeb didn't bug me, and Rex's role and actions made sense. Chopper got to be "quirky" without being annoying or wasting time.
-They used a Quasar Fire type freighter/fighter carrier, which legitimately made me very, very happy. I love SW ships, both from the movies and old EU, and that carrier is legitimately one of my favorite "big ship" old EU designs. I'm such a big SW ship nerd that seeing this ship appear gave me goosebumps.
-Absolutely no Inquisitors, and the few imperials worked for the roles they had in the episode.

Cons:
-Ezra is somehow more of a one man fighting machine, and he makes RotJ Luke look like one of those little kids Yoda is training in AoTC when it comes to force ability
-Thrawn's voice is weird, and I think his eyes would have been better at just pure red, or at least with more subtle iris's
-Who gives command of a mission to a 15 year old, over a veteran soldier and an adult Rebel? I mean, Zeb isn't really a leader, but still. Heck, even sabine would have made more sense. Instead, Hera stays at home and the youngest (as far as I know) active Rebel gets to command people older and more experienced then him for no real reason except he has force powers and is the main character of the show.
-Ezra was a bit angsty, but to be fair his attitude seemed to get a bit better near the end, after he got humbled by his screw ups.

Neutral:
-Thrawn didn't do much, definitely not enough to form a good or bad opinion

This ship shows up for the first time in the episode after the 'Space Whale' episode. Called "Homecoming".

Well, I probably missed it. I got to the space whales, but I don't remember if I got all the way through it. I was pretty fed up by that point, and even though that's the last episode I watched before this I don't remember much of it except the space whales.

No new episode this weekend. Anyone know when they'll broadcast more new episodes?

"Imperial Supercommandos" premieres this Saturday, Nov. 5 in the regular time slot. Then they'll take another week off, but new episodes will air on November 19 and 26.
