Star Wars May the Fourth Announcement?

You just couldn't name a starship U.S.S. Enterprise. That would be an infringing use. You can still name an aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Episode VII. You heard it here first.

Nah, I'm kidding. I don't want those made till after Lucas is dead, anyway, or unless he's willing to give up creative control to someone else.

I wonder if Lucas will come back as force ghost after he leaves this mortal coil- and continue controlling the Star Wars franchise?

I would actually like to see more work done on A New Hope. Empire and Jedi hold up really well to this day (to the point that they generally look better than the video-game-esque prequels), but Star Wars kind of looks like crap. To those who disagree, I point to the scene where Han is all like, "I'm gonna have to do some spiffy maneuvering to get us out of this jam!", referring to the star destroyers behind him, then proceeds to fly in a straight line.

It's a 34 year old movie, just leave it the fuck alone and enjoy it for what it is.

maybe there adding the first three season of the clone wars to the blu ray box set?
:wtf::eek::wtf::eek:

what ever it is I am excited love star wars. know matter what.

finally . that would be awesome if it were true. or maybe legacy motion comic on blu ray.:wtf::eek::wtf::eek:

It's probably going to be neither of these. Like i said earlier if it's simply more blu-ray informaton then it's silly they're counting down.

The announcement is that Lucas went into the prequel trilogy and replaced Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Don't laugh, because the terms "Starship Enterprise" and "U.S.S. Enterprise" are both trademarks of CBS...

CBS owns the term USS Enterprise? Does the US Navy have to pay royalties?

Well that makes sense since it's not like the term U.S.S. Enterprise existed before Star Trek... It's not like there were ships called U.S.S. Enterprise before Star Trek...

In all seriousness, this kind of reminds me of BBC buying the look of old British police boxes and copyrighting it as the TARDIS. When some British police forces decided to start using police boxes again, they were told that the new police boxes weren't allowed to look like the old ones because BBC now owns that look.

Regarding the Enterprise trademark assertions.

1) Before someone gets a burr up their ass about being off topic, we should probably continue this particular discussion in another thread.

2) I wish people claiming that CBS owns something would cite a source supporting their assertion. See http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Talk:USS_Enterprise#US_Navy_vs_Star_Trek_trademark for a similar and similarly unresolved discussion of this issue.

3) Thank you. Carry on.

Unless the announcement is Lucas decanonizing the entire PT and announcing a do-over, I'm plugging my ears and yelling LALALALALALALALALA.

The announcement is that Lucas went into the prequel trilogy and replaced Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Horrifyingly, in the case of the guys, that might be an improvement.
