Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Rian Johnson's been fired? According to Nerd Reactor he has been.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Kevin Smith just posted to his Facebook fan page that J.J. let him take a look at the Episode VII set. After signing the standard non-disclosure agreement he posted a selfie of himself weeping a tear of joy and giving a thumbs up at how good he thinks this movie's going to be.

Like Kevin Smith or not, he's a colossal Star Wars fan and understands the franchise, and if he's this excited and happy about Episode VII that's a good thing.
He hasn't seen the lens flares yet.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Kevin Smith had a cameo in the worst Die Hard film ever made, I take his opinion on things with a huge pinch of bantha poodoo.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Die Hard 4 worse than the last one? Now you've truly fallen to the Dark Side and have become a great threat.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Yeah I've never understood why people put much stock in what Kevin Smith has to say. About anything.

Hell, I'm more inclined to trust the opinion of Rick Berman, of all people, who tweeted recently that he had dinner with Kasdan and thought the story sounded amazing.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Die Hard 4 is worse than Die Hard 5?! :wtf:

I actually kinda like 4. Not as good as the first 3, but decent. 5 is the one that's completely by the numbers.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan, so I'm encouraged to hear that he approves.

That tubby bastard is so high he cries at the drop of a hat.:techman:

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

I can't deny that.

That said, he knows his Star Wars (for the most part).

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

He might've seen something as simple as the sets for the Falcon. I'd probably cry.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Looks like the ship finally got her revenge for the "she may not look like much" comment in Docking Bay 94. Corellian freighters are notoriously temperamental and prone to outbursts.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

Does this mean that the Falcon is going to pull a "Christine" and start hunting people down while blasting rock 'n' roll from the 50's?

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

leaving aside Kevin Smith, can anyone ever remember any celeb who on having early access to a film has then turned around and said "it looked like a pile of shit"*

* not including when the truth comes out after a film has been released.

This.

The Falcon could've been built out of styrofoam and aluminum cans and Smith would've said it looked great.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

I wonder if they couldn't just make a special cast or leg brace for Ford, hidden within a thicker black boot, and then later in post they could shrink down the boot like they shrunk down Chris Evans in the CA movies.

He'd probably still be limping around a bit, but I think we'd all prefer that to them using a body double.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

It's really not worth expending too much thought on it. I'm sure they'll figure something out, whatever happens.

Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII

It is a bit ironic that Harrison gets through four Indiana Jones films and The Fugitive without breaking a limb and being sidelined for any extensive period of time and survives some of the more physically demanding and rigorous shoots of any Hollywood leading man and action star, then spends a few days on the Episode VII set and a piece of his old ship tries to crush him alive. Poor guy.
