My default position on successful cinematography for computer generated images has become "How would we capture this if we were shooting practically?" If it fails the test of plausibility it ruins the magic. I for one also didn't care for the shakeycam stuff in AotC or the Falcon footage from the previous trailer.
What it comes down to though is that, for me, Hyperspace is much more interesting from inside the ship as a netherworld we don't understand. Showing me a tunnel of timey-wimey-spacey-wacey stuff makes it all just feel like a cosmic highway. We see ships go in, we see them come out, we see the dazzling spectacle from inside the cockpit but this somehow diminishes the whole ordeal.
I admit that shot does put holes in my argument though.
