Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

Yeah, the new 6" Yoda comes with his flute-necklace accessory, gimer stick/cane and a Dagobah snake that resembles the classic 3.75" snake included with the original Kenner Yoda. It'd be pretty smart to give BB-8 some gear to fill out the package if they're not going to pack him with Daisy Ridley.

Well, it definetly looks kind of Vaderish...wonder if he's a Cyborg too. We've had a lot of those in Star Wars, both in the movies and EU...technically Luke is one when you think about it.

Well, the conceptual art leaked earlier this year seemed to indicate that the villain in the dark robes and hood was a cyborg with a partially covered and reconstructed face and eye and at least one cybernetic hand. If Adam Driver is that villain and he's the one seen using the new crossguard lightsaber in the teaser then that would be very interesting.

Unless the cyborg from the conceptual artwork is Max von Sydow.

I don't remember, has the term "cyborg" ever been used in SW? Even in TCW? Seems like they must have used some other name for it, but I can't think of what that might be.

Of course the strange thing to realize is that even Luke was technically a cyborg in ROTJ. Lol

Not that I recall. The closest Vader ever came to being called a cyborg (at least onscreen) was when a character like Obi-Wan referred to him as "more machine now than man." It's implied that Vader and General Grievous are cyborgs and the packaging for at least a couple of General Grievous action figures do indeed use the term "cyborg" and even "pre-cyborg" to describe the character in different stages of his existence, but as far as I know "cyborg" was never once spoken in any of the films and if a character was called that on The Clone Wars or in another animated series then I'm forgetting the dialogue.

Not in the films, but it did appear in Marvel Comics' SW title:

To be fair, I kind of have the audio of the first Star Wars film engrained into my brain. They say you can't mark the baby...yes you can. I was born within two days after my parents saw the film (in a drive in theater).

Great title.

Abrams seems to care a lot more about the fans than Lucas did. Bringing the series back into a practical setting with less CGI was a good first step. If the rumours are true and Disney releases the original theatrical versions of the OT next year then the excitement for Star Wars future will be back to what it was before TPM.

Disney would first have to acquire the rights from 20th Century Fox who still owns ANH. I can't imagine Fox letting a golden goose go just like that, unless they're desperate for cash, which I don't think they are.

You don't think Fox wouldn't want a slice of untouched-original-trilogy cash? They'd be pretty stupid not to come to an arrangement with Disney on this one.
