Star Wars Episode 3: Was there as epic as this?

ReadyAndWilling

Fleet Captain
Hey guys, I was just re-watching Revenge of The Sith and wow, I was really amazed at the 'epicness' of the scene where Windu and the three Jedi confront Palpatine and Palpatine does the twirl in the air. I had forgotten how epic this scene was to the trilogy.

Episodes 1 and 2 were decent, but it seemed like they saved all of the surprises for Episode 3. DS9 gets pretty close to the epicness and Voyager did with 'Scorpion' but does Babylon 5 ever achieve this? Or Andromeda?

Epic? Three Jedi didn't even try to defend themselves as a curiously slow-moving Sidious cut them down in 10 seconds. The whole thing is just bizarre.

Babylon 5 got so much more epic than this in the final episodes of the Shadow War, and Farscape in the miniseries. Voyager never approached those two. Maybe Deep Space Nine and Andromeda did in sheer numbers of ships and weapons.

I suppose it depends on how you define "epic".

A few episodes of Breaking Bad certainly struck me as "epic", and all that really happened there is a chemistry teacher getting one over on a fast food restaurant owner...Not a space battle in sight.

in ROTS, what *is* epic is the opening scene....at first, a calm view of the space fighter going around a cruiser....until we hit an intense close range battle.

THAT was epic, and the best opener of all the movies.

I propose a moratorium on words like "epic" and "iconic" until we've all worked out what the heck they mean. :p

I'd put Mace's Posses facing Palps at the bottom of the list in terms of lightsabre battles in the third movie. The top would be Obi Wan vs Anakin and Yoda vs Palps by more than 12 parsecs.

I've only seen a couple episodes of Farscape... what's the mini-series?

I thought the final lightsaber battle between Vader and Luke in ROTJ was far more epic.

Agee with all of the above. O/P, I'm assuming you are including the subsequent battle between Palps and Mace in your "epic" assessment. ROTS is my 3rd favorite of the the 6 films behind "Empire" and ANH. To me, ROTS was a near "perfect" prequel.

Who would have thought that a certain character walking out of a room and straightening their tie would be one of the best scenes of a series?

You know that reporting something doesn't require posting in the thread that you're reporting something?

That scene is kinda embarrassing tbh. Its funny how Kit Fisto had become a sort of cult character in the fandom, a badass if you will. Yet I think I could fight better than he did in the end; all they do is just stand there and get cut down.

Reminds me of another cult character from the OT who fanboys formed massive circle jerks over(for reasons that STILL elude me 34 years later!)but then died like a flailing little bitch in ROTJ.
