Star Wars: Clone Wars..are you in or out?

Well, I think the Destroyer Droids and Super Battle Droids are suitably 'scary'.

It's the 'dummy' battledroids that act like goofs in the series. I'm not too bothered by that (in the way I could be bothered by such unimportant things) other than the fact that I thought TPM showed that these droids were really just dumb terminals controlled by the control ships.

It's been eleven years since the Battle of Naboo. In light of the fact that they lost that skirmish because of that particular design flaw, I'm sure they've had plenty of time to make upgrades.

A deleted scene from Attack of the Clones reveals that the Trade Federation did away with that flaw. The effects were never finished, so IIRC, it's not amongst the deleted scenes on the DVD.

As much as I can overlook some amount of droid antics, I have to admit I don't like it either. The battle droids were supposedly mindless. They needed the control ship to function. Then why on earth do they have personalities and the capability to make snarky comments?
Too make the children laugh.

Good point.

We 'old folks' need to be continually reminded that kids are supposed to be enjoying this, too.

Still, that's no reason they couldn't tighten things up a little bit to make it more enjoyable for all ages. (Let's not pretend that they aren't trying to get us 'old school' fans to watch, too.)
I think the Jedi & Clones are supposed to fill that gap because they're very serious. Plus I think as far as merchendising, colletors buy more Clones(too army build) & Jedi(to commander them) than they do the Battle Droids. So I think by gearing the Droids to kids, they're hoping the merchendising will pick up for those characters as well.

I'm still in. It's clearly aimed at kids, but the kid inside me is enjoying it so far. I never took Star Wars very seriously in the first place, so it fits in with my overall enjoyment of the franchise. With the exception of some of the video games, I never delved into the EU at all.

Plus, after a total of about 12 hours of Star Wars in a 20+ year period, having a new on-screen SW story every week is kinda cool.

The problem with the battle droids is that they are so bad at fighting the scenes never get exciting. Just throw in a jedi and 5 billion droids will get destroyed.

They need better enemies and someone who isn't a nobody needs to die sometime

Perhaps somewhat strangely, I'm buying the tie-in comics (both series), and I'll buy the novels if they ever hit mass-market paperback... but I've no interest in watching the TV show or movies! Maybe I'll Netflix it someday...

For shame, as this series is hella kewl. The space battle scenes are right out of the movies.

The new ep was cool.
The battles were awesome

The first nebula in SW outside of the one behind Tantive 4 in Ep3. It played a role in the story.

Space battle was exciting.

I don't unerstand the fascination with the Clone Wars storyline. I was ready for it to be overwith back in Episode II.

Because the franchise is called Star Wars, and here we finally have a time period within the galaxy (pardon the pun) where we have a full blown, all-out war, and people aren't interested???
A war that's already been covered extensively in movies, novels, comic books, video games, and TV for the past six years. It's time to move on.
:wtf:

It's called Star Wars not Star Peace.
