Star Wars Books Thread

Star Wars audiobooks are fun. I like that they actually include music and sound effects, it makes it all so much more immersive.

For the last week or so I've been reading The High Republic Adventures: The Complete Phase I and it's been good so far. I was a little hesitant since it's an "all ages" comic, but honestly it doesn't really feel all that different from the regular comics.

I got the new Acolyte novel, which is basically a sequel High Republic novel which should be fun. I believe it focuses more on Vern.
Hopefully it doesn’t spoil the end of High Republic

well Acolyte novel isn't part of the High Republic books. The Acolyte novel is just a side story of the show.

Star Wars High Republic Trials of the Jedi though is coming out next month just time for my birthday

I wouldn't mind reading Tempest Breaker but I heard its in script version since its a hardcover release version of the audiobook

Still set in that era and focuses on one of their characters.

But it's being sold as a Acolyte book and sounds like it's probably going to be set closer to the show than the other High Republic books, so it's probably not going to tie to closely to The High Republic, since they're not going to want to lose the people who've only seen The Acolyte. The people at Lucasfilm also aren't morons, so they're not going to ruin the end of a series that still has several more releases before it ends.

the new Acolyte novel is a side story based on the Acolyte show. completely different than the frikkin main High Republic novels. Period. wish other people would understand that

I started reading Leia, Princess of Alderaan while I was at work yesterday, and it's been good so far. It's a nice looking at a young Leia, and it works pretty well as an origin story for her, you can really see where it leads to her becoming the character we saw in the Original and Sequel trilogies.

I finished Leia, Princess of Alderaan earlier today, and I posted some thoughts over in What Are You Reading? thread in the Trek Literature section of the board.
The Leia book was pretty good, it was a origin story/coming of age story for Leia, and gave us some good stuff for her parents, and some more insights into the earlier days of the Rebellion. There was one thing that I wasn't sure if it would be considered an contradiction with Obi-Kenobi or if it was just something that didn't bring up. In the book Leia's mother Breha had an artificial heart and lungs that were put in after she had an accident as a kid that always glowing under her clothes, but I don't remember there being any sign of them in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I guess you could work around it by saying the ones she had in Obi-Wan Kenobi didn't glow or maybe she was wearing clothes that covered the glow, but it still stood out to me since the book always made a point of talking about them almost every time she was in scene.
