I really liked this episode. It reminds me of Dark Horse's Star Wars Tales comics from a couple of years ago. I'd love for them to keep using this format to tell stories about secondary and minor characters. I'd like to see what young Boba Fett's up to at this point, for example.

Great episode! I think that is the first time I've ever heard someone in the Star Wars universe say the word HELL!

If I can be a nerd here, Owen tells Beru in ANH that Luke better get those droids ready or they'll be hell to pay and Han yells at Leia "What the hell are you doing?!" when she shoots open the garbage shoot. We get the word "damn" twice in ANH and once in AOTC.

Also, Han said it in Empire:

"Your Tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker!"

"Then I'll see you in hell!"

When was the latter said?

Dare I say great episode? A mature theme, very exciting plot, wish the prequel movies had been as good as this episode.

Just the fact that the enemy robots weren't retards made it really exciting, hope we'll see much more of those commando droids.

Dex says to Obi-Wan that the Kaminos are cloners "damned good ones too."

So far I've been pretty consistently impressed at how much better the characterizations have been than the movies. As other have said, Anakin is so much more likable, and the Clones actually have discernible personalities.

The humour also works for me, as long as it's not from the droids. The Clone Trooper repeating roger roger to get inside the base was amusing. I'm also enjoying the use of Star Wars space monsters, with those space manta-rays a couple episodes ago, and the eels here. It also was pretty surprising when that one clone became a tasty lunch.

I have to admit it - I loved the 'boring conversation' joke lifted from ANH. You really have to feel sorry for the Clones - they go from cannon fodder to living traps to discarded when newly enthroned Palps decides to stop breeding them right after ROTS.

BTW, has it been firmly established that D66 was a post-hypnotic order, or was it embedded in their DNA?

IIRC, the explination was they were conditioned to obey orders without question, which may be an issue regarding the continuity in this series.

The thing about them obeying orders from the Chancellor of the Republic above all else, is when Palpatine proclaimed the Republic over, somehow that didn't nullify his authority, even though the Republic is now a different entity and Palpatine is technically not a Chancellor. Were they obeying the office or the man?

If they were only supposed to obey Palpatine himself, then what happens after he died? Did the cloned stormtroopers just flake out? Can Order 66 ever be rescended by anyone other than Palpatine?

Order 66 was one of a series of a hundred-some contingency orders, which covered all sorts of relatively innocuous things, including my personal favorite, an order to detain the Chancellor, with lethal force if necessary, should he be declared unfit by order of the Jedi Council or Senate.

There's an interesting reference in the ROTS novelization that the reason the Jedi didn't suspect the clones is because the clones were not being sneaky. In the clones mind, they were simply following orders.

Wow! I was very impressed by this episode. I can't believe I have warming feelings for something set in the Prequel era!

I think the success of the episode lay in the fact that it focused on other characters. Ani and Obi-wan are bland. The new Jedi girl is that same annoying cliche smart-aleck we see all over Noggin and Disney Channel. I was happy to see Rex and Cody star in an episode, as well as one-off characters. I hope there's more of that.
