Star Trek XI - Will Simply be Awesome - It's about time!

I hope the movie turns out to be awesome, but so far I'm less than impressed from what they've shown us in the teasers.

I'm trying to figure out what was wrong with Generations, course I'm still trying to figure out what the issues are people have with any Trek movie or series. I'm weird I guess, I like em all...

You're joking, right? First, let's kill off Jean-Lucs brother and nephew 'burned to death, sob, in a fire'. Then let's have a continuity wrecking death of Captain Kirk in front of Scotty who in TNG said, 'Enterprise? I'll bet James Kirk himself brought her out of mothballs'. Then, let's have an 80 year old Klingon BOP with a crew of what, 18? destroy the Enterprise D. Just because it would LOOK COOL. Then, let's kill Captain Kirk by dropping a bridge on him. I could go on, but...what's the point? IT SUCKED ALMOST AS BAD AS NEMESIS.

No I'm not joking. I happen to be a Star Trek fan. I like Star Trek.

TOS,TAS,TNG,DS9,VOY,ENT,I-XI.

I don't care how they killed Kirk, they did. I don't care why
the Enterprise-D was destroyed, it happened.
I don't care if you think Nemesis sucked, it was awesome.
The point is it's part of the story, part of a huge ever evolving
Universe that branches off, forward and backward, in all directions.
I accept the good with the bad because as a whole no Universe is perfect,
Trek is not oblivious to that. It all makes one-big-fucking-awesome-epic-Universe of
characters, events and places.

And I get to enjoy all of it.

I like Star Trek.

Man i think the same way. I like all form of trek. Never really had a problem with Generations. Maybe a little of Nemesis, but i dont hate like some people do. Anyways on topic i think the new movie will be great.

I remember that, too, though I think they may have revised the opening theme sequence before the show was cancelled. I don't think that one was used for the entire run.

There was weird shit on TV in the 60s - very high concept/low execution comedy.

Be glad that I've not yet inflicted "Mr. Terrific" on you.
Believe it or not, I deleted a sentence before posting my last which suggested you look up Mr. Terrific (great theme tune! :D ) and Captain Nice next.

From the United of Kingdoms, I post the horror that is Metal Mickey.

Of particular note is the lyric "He's a lot of fun, he weighs half a ton..."

ill reserve judgement till after i see it!personally i cant understand how anyone could think this film will be awesome from the tiny amount of it that we have seen in the trailer.i hope were not in for a huge letdown.

That door swings both ways, you know.

LOL!!!!!!!!!! This is a joke, right? How can you enjoy it ALL?
I like Star Trek.

So, basically, you don't have ANY critical thought process at all, you'll simply enjoy ANYTHING with the word "Star Trek" in the title, even the episodes of Voyager about the holographic Irish village and Fat Riker rolling about with a vampire in Nemesis? Oh boy...

Is there a problem with that?
Can anyone be a Star Trek fan by just being a fan?

(...for posting that link!)

...damn..I remember watching that show too... and liking it... and being disappointed They canceled it!

....obviously, I had absolutely NO Taste when I was a kid!!

...and I've liked all the Trek Movies too... but, there are varying degrees of my 'like-a-tude'.
(NEMISES being the least liked, but that's a whole different Thread!)

More geezers here than I realized.

Halfway through "It's About Time's" triumphant network run, the show was retooled in an attempt to boost ratings. The theme was given new lyrics to reflect that:

Imogene Coca's character name apparently changed - I'm not sure that the character was ever called by the original name in the episodes proper.

In regards to Generations, I actually liked it. Yes, the Enterprise D's destruction was sloppily written and not thought out at all, but the saucer's crash makes for a cool scene regardless. Otherwise, the film was quite enjoyable and one of my favourites to this day.
