Star Trek XI Trailer Exposed...and Debunked

Actually, the trailer as described is just a fanboy wet dream - there's not a thing in it as described that's directed at anyone who might see it who isn't already a dyed-in-the-wool trekkie. Makes it seem even more likely that it's a fannish concoction.

In all honesty... am I the only person who keeps watching and rewatching the teaser in the desperate and entirely illogical hope that some intense vivid detail will jump out? Y'know, some satisfying giveaway we just so happened to miss the first fifty times?

No. No, you are not.

I admit to being rather nervous about Chris Pine - I only know him as the somewhat predictable male love interest in teen flicks, so I'm hoping that this will be an oppurtunity for him to reveal hidden depths of ability. ...Hopefully.

As I think I've said before, I suggest looking at it thusly: even if he is miscast to some degree, Mr. Pine would have to be a complete idiot not to realize that this part could swallow his career whole, so I'm sure he'll give the role as much passion, commitment and eyebrow as he can muster.

XD *is pathetic*

Well, you're in good company. I'll join you on the pathetic couch!

I really hope they don't upset any Star Trek in any way when this new Film comes out next year, They should have carried on with The Next Generation crew. Because they left it with a new found Android and Riker & Troi getting new post's on a different Starship.

Kind Regards

Captain Cubbio

Ooh! Can we have a purple pathetic couch? We can curl up and talk about the Good Old Days while embroidering cushions with sombreros and petting Cat Spock and Cat Kirk alternately. :bolian:

...Has anyone actually constructed a model Sombreroprise yet? Because its tempting me greatly.

I don't believe we've seen a model yet, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of one or more being in design and/or construction phase even as I write this. There could also be 3-D CGI renders in the works; we shall see what happens.

Sounds like a plan! All we'd need to do then is burn the teaser trailer and the Sombrero movie onto a DVD and watch them in a loop on the TV, and we'll be set for May 2009!

All these speculations is just adding fuel to my fire. July 6th, 2008 now.. just 10 more months to go! We waited far too long, 2 years if I remember since this movie was announced and all we got was spy photos, a small (yet brilliant) teaser trailer and some more spy photos with stupid rumors. Damn I need to see a trailer with the main cast NOW!

No thank you. I'd rather wait and see what the current writers have done before I start wishing that someone else was writing it.

This trailer discription shows ZERO imagination. Seriusly, a shot of the cast and the ship, that's the best they can come up with?!

I agree in general, but I did really like the described juxtaposition of Nimoy's "The needs of the many" and Quinto's "The one." That could make some nice awesome-sauce if it were appropriate to the story.
