"Star Trek" trailer 3 screenshots

Good observation. I also see the word "LOWE" in the hull registry marking on that debris floating on the right.

Same here....i adjusted the brightness & contrast to make it show up a little better.

I wonder if it's just part of a name, like "Marlowe" or "Winslowe"

Sorry to double post, but I believe I can slightly make out an F next to the L, which makes me believe it's Mayflower.

enhancing that section of the image reveals "Flowe"

I'm certain it is the debris from one USS Mayflower...
Good work on spotting the possible "F", but in my humble opinion the alledged "F" is kerfed too far from the "L O W E" to be part of the name. I think what you see as an "F" is simply damage to the ship.

I think it could be the 'L O W E L L', perhaps named for the astronomer Percival Lowell:

This shot right here nearly frightens me. I look at this and really see Leonard Nimoy.

Also, incase no one else had noticed, one of the most stunning shots of the Enterprise was rotated 180 degrees...
.. did you miss it?

Well, here it is the right way up, and here you can finally see the top of the saucer section in all its glory, the bridge module itself, and a rather odd looking glowing dome atop the bridge.

Enjoy:

No. It was commented upon a number of times, beginning minutes after the trailer was released online yesterday. The image of the inverted Enterprise appears in the opening post of this thread -- eighth row, in the center.

Judging from the way everyone is looking rather stunned at Sulu in this shot (who gives a thumbs-up, doesn't he?), I guess Sulu will be the one letting Kirk take the Captain's chair.

Also, isn't that Scotty behind Sulu? Why is he still holding up his hands?

Yeah, that's Scotty, standing right about in the "I like this ship. It's exciting" spot. I don't know why he's holding up his hands; there's not enough in that bit of the trailer to tell.

That's San Francisco there in the backgound, isn't it?

It is. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, below and to the right of the drilling platform. The Presidio (Starfleet Academy) is at the near end of the bridge and Starfleet Headquarters is across the bridge on the Sausalito side.

Red circle - Academy
Green circle - SF HQ
Yellow - Alcatraz

Isn't the Presidio the current location of ILM / Lucasfilms???? Guess Nero doesn't want any more versions of Star Wars either...lol

I like how when the drill fires it sort of jiggles as if there is ALOT of power going through it...little touches like that are what separates the good from great SFX...of course we will need to see more to truly judge but so far the SFX are top notch, especially for a TREK film.
