If the early Friday estimates are correct "Star Trek" has topped $200 million. It took in 3.6 million on Friday.

"Star Trek" is currently the #1 film of 2009 with $200,350,000.

Kirk + Spock have saved Star Trek...

Kirk + Spock have saved Star Trek...

Exactly what I've been saying for years! To the mass audience, Trek = Kirk + Spock + Enterprise. Just give them back to us in an exciting and fun format that stays reasonably true to the spirit of Trek.

Funny how now it looks easy, huh? Whatever happened to all the FUD this place used to be filled with?

Which does nothing to change the fact that I still love DS9 the best. But the new gang has a lot of what I loved in DS9 anyway.

FIRST CONTACT made tons of money(relatively speaking)because it had the Borg and was kinda dark and packed with action. The next two films failed for the most part because they featured alien races and/or villains that honestly just didn't click and had plots straight out of TNG or DS9's less-than-top notch standards.

$200.3 or .4 depending on who you go with. Its pretty amazing that ST is number one...probably for at least a month or so.

I can't believe we have whopped Wolverine in the U.S Box Office and now T-4 flops too . Hell even Wolverine world total is not giving it a huge lead for TOTAL GROSS due to our domesitc legs so we could end up beating it for end final WW gross :p

we are so back.

With any luck, the next Harry Potter will bomb and Star Trek will be the best selling movie for 2009

That would be excellent! :D

Unfortunately, Transformers will probably take the title even if Harry Potter doesn't bomb (which it won't).

Not bloody likely. I hang out at a few Harry Potter message boards and they're so anxious for it to premiere since it got pushed back for more than seven months that I'm thinking they're gonna go see it 50 times each. A scarier bunch than anything I've seen here, and some of them communicate in leet speak. :borg:
