Just got mine; I'll likely save it for next weekend's event - provided it's one that uses chrons - but good to know they do have the risk of expiring eventually. In the mean time, I'm continuing to try and clear some space, too many underleveled characters clogging up the crew quarters...
I don't know when they expire, but I've saved Sorrytons in mail for at least 2-3 months without a problem.
Maybe, I've read on the Disruptor Beam forums that sitting on Sorrytons, Cadet Tickets, etc, is risky. It may last or it may not. If they were to expire it's unlikely that support would send you a new one.
Anyway, here we go with a month long event arc! The good news is that they've released the featured event crew for the first 3 weeks already, giving time to level up who you'll need.
This week, Neelixs, Kor and Grilka.
Next week, K'Ehleyr, Klaa and Worfs.
(Really wish they'd told us Klaa was gonna be in another event, I wouldn't have airlocked him)
The Week After, B'Elanna's, Martoks & Kang
Kortar is the Borg Queen of this Mega Event, try to level him if possible.

They edited the info on the forums, next week no longer has Klaa as event crew. Apparently that was posted in error. Liason B'Elanna is the event crew instead. Making it really useful to level B'Elanna's as it seems she will be event crew twice in this run of events.
Thanks for the tips @LeadHead , they'll come in useful during the coming weeks. Time to go through the list and see if I have any characters in need of priority leveling, and if anyone needs to be defrosted. I ended up using my 500 bonus chronitons yesterday (with a supply kit booster) so 1 Kortar down. I'll have to see how easy he is to level, given that many Klingons usually require bloodwines only available in shuttles/faction shops.
The new stage on the galaxy map was a bit too easy. I got all the stars quickly. Well, after recharging chronotons to over 100 a second time. It seems like they could have made it a bit harder. It did help me get closer to level 40 and that 200 dilithium prize.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here but if you download the game on Steam, there's a ridiculously good offer of 10 premium packs plus 700 dilithium and 500,000 credits for the bargain price of £6.99. Just remember to play through the prologue and log in before you buy the pack. It's DLC available via Steam.
I've only been playing a couple of months but was able to get 3 stars on a lot of blue crew. Only trouble now is all the super rare guys with one star and limited space to keep them all. I'm in the process of working out who to keep and who to airlock. Six days and counting!
