At some point I'm going to replace my TAS DVDs with the blu-ray set. I just don't like the blocky digital artifacting that comes from upscaling.

Bob said he never remembered the Delta Triangle having a red sky, and the script describes it as a black, starless sky. I think at some point when it went to syndication the blacks had issues and appeared more red. I have a Laser Disc from the 90s and someone I know has a player to that's my next thing to check. I wanted to find that out for sure before we published the guide but I couldn't. Hoping maybe to make that addition with another printing!

I remember it as being red. That doesn't mean it was the correct color.

The BluRsys won’t really show you anything you haven’t seen before. The book might give you something you haven’t seen or known before. I still have my DVD set and switching to the BluRay versions are not a high priority for me. I’m glad I got the book.

Right. For a very long time background on TAS was sporadic.

The one thing I still don’t have yet is the CD collection featuring TAS’ music. It’s on my “to do” list.

@GeekFilter Would this be the appropriate place to ask a question about the TAS episode production process? First of all, this is a great book and a valuable resource for many! And thank you for including a copy of the episode production order sheet on page 18 of your book - it finally answered my query about what episode #12 was all about!
Anyway, the list matches the TAS production order I've seen elsewhere, the first few of which are:

1. More Tribbles More Troubles
2. The Infinite Vulcan
3. Yesteryear
4. Beyond The Farthest Star

Continuing, on p.21 you confirm that BTFS was the first script the cast recorded, followed by YY and TIV.
Was this just because those scripts happened to be the ones completed at the time?
What was the criteria for MTMT to be granted production order number #1? Was it just that they just happened to complete it first?
Why then was TIV the second one to be produced, when the dialogue for 2 others had already been recorded?
And was it just coincidence that BTFS was the first episode broadcast?

Sorry to drop all this on you out of the blue!
I find the whole history behind the animated series fascinating (to borrow a phrase)

While you're mulling an answer, this was my Christmas present. I adore it. It has almost convinced me to buy the blu-ray! Looking at the gorgeous art in this book I'm now of the opinion that the only thing that was in any way "cheap" about this show was the literal animation itself. No other show looks as TOS as this show does except for TOS!

I actually bought the book when it was first published, but it wasn't until Christmas that I had the time to sit down and properly read it! It's truly a gorgeous publication, I'm really glad I popped for the hardback

Funnily their Fantastic Voyage cartoon from 67/68 doesn't seem to have as many of the usual errors like TAS though? The odd wrong coloured top and missing neck collar yes, but no reverse shots or pink cats!!! Still TAS is still a great cartoon series and easily more interesting than some later Treks today!
