Star Trek: The Alpha Quadrant Chronicles.

This new series will be set aboard a Merchant/Mercenary Raider ship, the ship will be crewed by a group of Mercenarys from all kinds of different species (like Humans / Klingons / Andorians / Ferengi etc) all working together to try and earn big money.

The series will focus on their exploits trying to gain profit but they usually end up in trouble or wrapped up in a conflict, some episodes will have the crew hired (by Romulans or Klingons etc) to hunt down and capture escaped convicts, the crew in some eps even venture out into unknown territory where they end up on the receiving end of a bad guy. ;)
Some eps might see them employed to fly to the Gamma Quadrant.

Other focus areas will be the crew, there interactions and how the crew get along with eachother, the Klingons and Ferengi for example wont get along with each other but when the worst comes to the worst they work together and friendships are made throughout the series.

The ship itself will have been built and put together using spare parts and purchased black market weapons including Plasma/Photon Torpedoes and Disruptor's.

So what do you think? I was trying to think of a new type of series, a series that doesnt focus on Starfleet or any other particular race but instead has a collection of different races working together on a ship but who dont answer to no particular organisation like Starfleet, a crew not influenced by the prime directive.

Sound good?

Interesting. "Firefly" meets "Star Trek: DS9". I think this could make an interesting story. I'd like to have it for my anthology (see link in my signature.)

wow, 69 views and 1 reply, I guess my idea really does suck. :(

No, it is interesting and different, I have to say. A Motley Crew of Outcasts in Space, composed of characters who are nothing like the races they represent, like a non-violent Klingon, for example, or a laughing Vulcan! It could be made even more interesting to see if they have to pay to use transporters, or get food packs for their replicators, stuff like that. They definitely need a Ferengi on board to help them negotiate! And he loves his captain's "lobes" and says stuff like "You should've been born a Ferengi"! -- RR
