Star Trek: Supermax (Season Two Redux)

Just a quick update:

The last two episode of this season are brewing, but I need to devote all my spare time for the next two months at least to my academic writing--especially to finishing my book.

I am conceiving of these episodes as one long story, so when I do post them, I should be able to post them both together. I want to try to avoid as many lengthy waits between episodes as possible.

Until then--keep watching the skies!

Will do. I was beginning to wonder about when we'll get to read something new. Good luck with your book, sounds exciting!

I hesitate to show my face in this forum, after promising new stories more than two years ago, and never delivering. But this was too cool not to share.

Those of you who remember my Supermax series will recall that it was mostly set in the 61 Virginis star system--a real star system, abut 28 light-years away from our own. And that most of the stories were set on Sundancer-- a planet that was close to the star, and tidally-locked, so that the dark side was extremely cold, while the bright side was extremely hot.

Well, it turns out that Sundancer really exists. Sort of.

61 Virginis has a real planetary system, which includes at least three planets, all of which are quite close to the star. Two of them are gas giants, but the closest of them to the star, 61 Virginis b is a "super-Earth," about five times the mass of our own world.

How dare you show your face here again after all those empty promises. And what do you mean, "really exists"? Are you saying you made up all these stories about Sundancer. Surely, sir, you jest.
