I like this idea a lot and I think it could have TV series potential, or miniseries at least.
Have any of you read the Fabled graphic novels? They're about characters from stories and fairy tales such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and the Three Little Pigs, etc. They had to flee their Fabled homelands to escape an evil force that was taking over and make new lives for themselves in our real modern world.
Anyway, the Fabled people that could pass for human were able to live among normal humans and interact with them, but the Fabled that couldn't pass for humans, like the three little pigs, had to live hidden away on a "Farm" and there was definitely tension between the two groups and building resentment, especially with the ones who were forced to stay on the Farm.
So, for this series there could be a similar situation if this world, for example, is one of the many that have a race that looks essentially human. The human crewmembers of this stranded ship would be able to pass as natives of this planet, but the more alien members of the crew wouldn't be able to without great risk, so the potential for different factions to arise would be interesting to see.
Granted, Star Trek has shown that people can be genetically altered to pass as another race, but if the ship crashed down on the planet unexpectedly, there wouldn't be enough time to do that.
