I think #3, or something else from that episode, was made from razor parts

I think it's safe to say our collective wallets have been hit hard by these little ships, but in my case they ended up also impacting my life in a different way.

I moved into my new apartment at the end of August. The ships were boxed up the first few days of September, as I planned to spend some time on the Labor Day weekend taking them out and setting them up on the bookshelves.

It was not to be, however.

I finished my work shift (from home) at 5:30 on Saturday and decided to check out the local comic/collectible store a few blocks away, before they closed at 6. I never made it there, however. About halfway there, I flipped my bike and broke my left arm into a million pieces (with a minor break on the right too). I had to have surgery and spent the next couple of weeks in a 30 pound cast. I couldn't even make a fist with my left hand without it shaking like a paint mixer. I'm a lot more improved now, but the left arm still can't straighten or bend much yet, so lifting or moving anything heavy (like a box of ships) isn't really an option at this time. (Not to mention figuring out what to do with all those little boxes).

I finally made it over to the store the other day, and ended up buying the Pakled ship, and I was also delighted to see the Prometheus was available on the Canadian site, so I ordered that too. I haven't opened the Pakled ship yet, however, and until, I get some more movement back, I'm afraid it'll be a little while longer before any ships adorn my new apartment.

So... I've heard the
Titan
appears in Lower Decks, making the design canon. Wouldn't now be a good time to release it as an XL model?

That is true and t'was fucking epic.

On a side note, have any Europeans gotten Regular One yet one?

News from the virtual NYCC. These are straight copies from the Facebook fan group.
First, two new licences for Ship models: Jeff Bezos's The Expanse, and MGM's Stargate.

Thirdly, the report by Waldo Miguez (Thank you, mate!):
"So here is a couple of updates from the NYCC Hero Collector Comic-Con booth with Ben Robsinson & Chris Thompson.
STAR TREK: DISCOVERY

The Star Trek Discovery will be finishing at Issue 33.
Don't fret, it will be joined with the Strange New Worlds and Picard ships into a joint collection of the 3 series.
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

The collection will be continuing but the latest ships haven't been announced.
They have released we will be getting a model of the Cylon Centurion which first appeared in the Original Battlestar Galactica series.

Ben also hinted that there might be an exclusive convention model, which would be a Gold Cylon Centurion.
STAR TREK: PICARD

The first four ships of the Star Trek - Picard collection are:
  • La Sirena
  • Zheng-He (Riker's Flagship, apparently there are 4 different versions of this ship in the Starfleet armada visible in the last episode of the series)
  • Romulan Bird-Of-Prey
  • Seven Of Nine (Ranger Ship)
THE ORVILLE

This line is continuing, however due to COVID is slightly delayed. The will be more ships but they will be release late next year around Q3 of 2021.
XL EDITIONS

The XL line will continue, the next 2 ships are:
  • JJ Abrams - USS Enterprise
  • Delta Flyer
NEW LICENSES

The other 2 licenses which they have managed to get a hold of are:
  • The Expanse (The first ship in the Expanse line will be the beautiful Rocinante)
  • Stargate
The release date is apparently Q3 of 2021"

Personal comment:
The Delta Flyer is a smallcraft. It has to have impressive detail to avoid looking toylike at XL size. Does the vessel even have aztecing? This is also my fear for the upcoming USS Enterprise - it looks plain white to me.
In a pinch, I'd rather have USS Prometheus and USS Equinox. Let's hope the XLs sell well enough to get us those, and the XL Titan, and an XL gold-plated Enterprise-E.

Stargate's inclusion comes at a total surprise. Ben had previously stated that requests for the Babylon 5 and Stargate licences had been rebuffed. There's like 15-20 or so ship designs in the Stargate franchise, IIRC, plus a few star gates as specials.

The Expanse sounds cool but I wonder how practical it is to get those super-large, super-geebly antenna'd ships made. Either way, I'd like the Rocinante both in its rogue and original Tachi configs.

I'd have liked an announcement for more Alien ships. Perhaps next year is a good time to campaign for a ship from the Predator part of the franchise. (Thinking of the beautiful Yautja mothership from the classic Alien vs. Predator).

I'd say there are at least 30 viable designs. I'd like to see at least Destiny, a Puddle Jumper, an Atlantis city-ship, a Goa'uld Ha'tak (late SG1 model), a Lucian Alliance Ha'tak (SGU model), Daedalus, an F-302, a Death Glider, an Al'kesh bomber, and a Tel'tak cargo ship. And then there's the Goa'uld troop transporter, MALP and UAV, Apophis' flagship, Anubis' flagship, Ra's pyramid ship, the Aurora class, the Ancient seedship, Destiny's shuttle, Prometheus, the Beliskner/O'Neill/Daniel Jackson classes, the Ori mothership, the replicator ship, Wraith dart, Wraith cruiser, Wraith hive, SGU drone, and SGU Nakai mothership... And those are only the ones I can think of right now.

I think I'll have to buy fewer Star Trek models, because Stargate might become very expensive for me...

I hope they'll find all the original CGI models. About 10 of them are known to still exist, but others, like the Ha'taks or Destiny, have to my knowledge not been seen since the shows ended.

On Twitter, Titan designer Sean Tourangeau asked Ben to make an XL Titan. Ben replied with: "OK."
Wow - that is awesome news! I know there are a bunch of folks out there who never liked it, but I always did. I always liked yakking with Sean about starship design back in the day, too. I'm sad he's no longer an active member of TBBS. IIRC, he got tired of all the people calling it an Akira rip-off. The irony there is, that one thing that made some hate it is the thing that made me love it! And, to be fair, I never thought it was a rip-off, while it still had some structural and cosmetic commonalities that I greatly enjoyed from a design aesthetic. Hell, by that logic, literally all starship designs are Connie and/or Miranda rip-off's, so whatever.
  • Zheng-He (Riker's Flagship, apparently there are 4 different versions of this ship in the Starfleet armada visible in the last episode of the series)
Oh, God, not that again, please no!
Don't know if you're aware, but that original assertion of four variants has caused quite the kerfuffle over in the Picard sub-forum. IIRC, the final word on that note (at least, the most recent official statement on the subject) was, four designs were submitted for rendering, but only one main body design with two nacelle variants were actually seen on screen.

Edit: Oops - didn't see Tuskin38's similar explanation above. Sorry. :)
Now, by "Romulan Bird-Of-Prey", are they referring to Kal Kantar's warlord hotrod, or are the new Romulan fleet ships yet another in a long line of identically-named-as-to-produce-endless-confusion ships, like the myriad "Warbirds" running around out there? Granted, it's a cool upgrade to an old design, but I think I'd like to see Oh's fleet ship models over that. We already have a couple of Rommy BOP's (ENT 22nd & TOS 23rd century versions) that are roughly the same in design.

In Star Trek Online, there's also only the 2 recognised variants of the Inquiry class: Ship's body is the same, but it has two nacelle options (Inquiry and Inquiry Beta).

One of the online links includes a preview of the hotrod BoP (Vas Hatham class), so I presume it's that. In an earlier interview, pre-COVID, Ben had stated all PIC ships would be made. Personally, I'm also looking forward to the elegant W-winged birdie.
