Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

These things are a pain in the butt to organise on shelves and show off! My favourites are the Federation starships, by a long way. Nice to see Nebula, Norway & Akira etc.

If you don't mind me asking, where were you able to get the stand for the DST 1701 refit on your top shelf ? The one I got with the ship broke and that looks a lot sturdier.

So, I called EM, and checked about the special. According to the lady i spoke with, the last special was the Kelven, and the next one isn't scheduled until October. I did ask her what it was and she said she didn't know. Had no clue on the NX-01 Refit. To twitter I go...

So, wait - they charged us $39.95 for no reason, then? IIRC, I think this may have happened before. It is interesting to note that, when checking my CC account online, it's still listed as "pending" and not "complete". I think the last time this happened they withdrew the charge before it completely processed.

Update: Charge went away today. Looks like it was another misfire on EM's part. Should be all good.

I have my TWoK editon hanging from the ceiling for this very reason.

I just got the Krenim Temporal Weapon ship second hand from eBay. Cool ship but I noticed it it doesn't have the circular "focusing crystal" thingy at the end of the weapon. Is this just mine or are they all like that?

To be fair I looked at a couple of reviews on youtube and they also seem to be missing it, but I just wanted to make sure

So....... anyone know where I can buy them (reliably) on line? or how the subscription works? This thread has taught me to err on the side of caution when it comes to ordering these things. Heard about horror stories ordering through certain retailers.

I really want to get the NX refit and several of the other back issues. So do i start my subscription off at the current ship they are releasing or do they start sending me the first ship in the series, followed by # 2, #3, etc..

If you want all the ships then just start your subscription with Eaglemoss. However, it will start at issue #1 (The E-D) and then two more ships will follow every month. If you only want certain ships then you would order them either through your local comic/ specialty store or just order them directly from the Eaglemoss store. I've never had any issues ordering directly from them in the past such as ordering extra binders or the plaques.

I broke mine too. This was bought in eBay a few years back. It is essentially wire bent into shape. You can then tweak the shape that arrives and make it a bit wider to accommodate the hull. I think they called it a star wards X-wing holder! I have balanced my Excellcior class vewssel on a large circ-clip (jubilee clip). Some other models are balanced on mugs. It's a shame that DST a) don't post to the uk and b) don't make the holes in the hull for, say, a 8mm rod and base! The fact they don't even sell replacemnet stands isn't good either!

So, I was checking in on the Eaglemoss shop tonight, and there is now available the NX Enterprise dedication plaque listed as a "Special Edition" item, like the NX Refit. I'm thinking that anything listed like that is a special item that those subscribers who opted in to receive them will get, as opposed to those items listed as "Shop Exclusives" (like all the other dedication plaques) that need to be manually purchased outside the subscription. Has any subscriber here received announcement emails about this new plaque? I don't get those emails any more, so I wanted to first check if I should expect to get this one so I don't accidentally purchase a duplicate like what happened with me and the NX Refit.

Also haven't received a subscription binder in a while, and I've already filled all the ones I have with a few extra loose magazines in search of a new one. Have any subscribers received new binders lately? The online store still has them out of stock.

I thought the subscription only covered special ships; other than the first 1701-D plaque, no other plaques were to be included (Speaking of ships, I still don't understand why the ISS Enterprise wasn't included as a special for subscribers. Makes no sense to me).

I thought we only get the original binder when we subscribed? I've had to separately purchase the other five binders I've gotten since getting the original one free.

Correct, the first binder was free, but you still have to pay for the remaining binders. But I think you're supposed to receive them automatically - at least, if you opted into that feature. That's how I remember it.
