I don't think the Merchantman was ever made into CG either. I think it's last use was the Klingon transport in "Rules of Engagement".
I thought they created a CGI version of it for Voyager?

Isn't there a licence issue which means new-film ships have to be specials? Of course, that could be renegotiated.
I just can't see how they'll find enough ships to do to reach 100.
Have you stumbled across this guy's page yet? I think they could do 200, depending on how insanely obscure they were willing to get..

I'd totally buy... oh, at least half of those.
I don't think the size has anything to do with it. Mattel made non-JJ ships in the "smaller" size, so it would be odd for that not to be a problem if size were an issue. To be honest, I was under the impression that they were special editions so those that didn't like the JJ-verse could skip them without having "holes" in their numbered issue collection.Mattel already had the license to make the JJ era ships in the smaller size. For Eaglemoss to get to make them, they had to be a larger size. That's the licensing issue.
A rough CG version of the Merchantman in its Vidiian appearance was created for "The phage" but I doubt the CG model still exists.Ah but that wasn't CGI.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the misspelling of the Equinox registry as 'EQUINDX' instead of 'EQUINOX' has been fixed at any point? It's one of those ships constantly out of stock on the Eaglemoss website, and I keep passing it up on Ebay because I have it in my head from somewhere that the error was corrected, and all of those on Ebay I have come across have the error - if it hasn't ever been fixed, I might be passing it up for no reason at all. Looking at images of the Equinox on German websites leads me to believe the error was corrected, but it doesn't hurt to ask just to be sure.
And I'll be there to buy each and every one of them...They could easily reach 200 with out even hitting any of the more obscure kit bashes. easily. now obviously if they wanted to start doing every redress of the reliant or every reuse of some of the more common designs (like the Merchantman), then we could easily go over 300.
Would love to get my hands on that ship. Is it out in the UK and US now?Received the NX-01 Refit this morning and it's great. The details, shape and painting are all excellent and vivid as well as the size of the model. The ship outline just "works" for me and I would have loved to see it in motion. The accompanying magazine is informative giving Drexler's take and history with it. It's also filled with the beautiful CG paintings we've seen online and in the Ships of the Line calendar. I really hope these specials sell well and they go back and give us a better TOS Enterprise, E-E and I'd love an E-C (they kind of dropped the ball on the C) in the larger format. This is quickly becoming one of my favorites of the line along with the original NX and D models. It appears as if a lot of effort and care went into these three models and it shows.
I've already decided I'm probably going to drop my subscription after I get all the Enterprises and be more picky. And I'll be there to buy each and every one of them.... I'm a completest through and through which is why I've had to give up on many different collectible habits over the years.
Yes, it's out now in the US. I believe the UK has had it available for a few months .Would love to get my hands on that ship. Is it out in the UK and US now?
As I said, that would be very difficult for me to do being the completionist I am. Also, no offense, but I hope there aren't too many such as yourself because as more and more drop their subscriptions the less likely we see any ships past issue 110 (though I completely understand your reasoning).I've already decided I'm probably going to drop my subscription after I get all the Enterprises and be more picky.
