Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I've had issues with them more than once. I ordered the XL version of the Discovery USS Enterprise and I got the model itself in late 2018. To this day, I'm still waiting for the magazine. They keep telling me it is sent but I never get it. I'm now on yet another supposed shipment. Now they are saying it's due to COVID-19 but they've had over a year to send the darn thing!

Gotta love it. No mention of the expedited shipping I paid for on 4/15...

In response to your inquiry, your order was shipped to you on 04/20/20.

Please allow one to two weeks from that date for delivery. If you have still not received the shipment after three weeks, please contact Customer Service. Our toll-free number is 800-261-6898.

We greatly appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

Yea, I ordered a shuttle set on Apr 14, with expedited shipping and I still haven't gotten an email saying it's been shipped. I think I might give them a call in the morning.

Edited to add: I called them and they said it was shipped. For whatever reason, I just didn't get an email before, but at least now I got a tracking number.

I have seen a number of companies using the CoVid-19 excuse for problems predating the out break.

I look forward to the Defiant concept model. Is it the MSD seen in The Search, Part 1?

I really want to know when we will see some news about the USS Emmett Till! Can someone with a Twitter-account please ask Ben Robinson?:guffaw:

BTW I'm absolutely positively surprised by the Borg cube! Never thought I'd get one - but this one is on my list!

Well, my shuttle set finally arrived. I was a little taken aback at how small they are. I assumed they'd be more comparable to the runabout and Delta Flyer. They do look great though. I wish the magazine actually had an article on designing the shuttles. The big disappointment is the flat stands that the shuttles just rest on, with nothing to hold them in place.

Still, I'm very happy with it. Now that I've got set 2, I'll probably get set 5 and set 1 (if that one ever becomes available again) in the next few months.

I really like the shuttle lines myself but, yeah, they've always been stupid-small. That's the only real drawback I've noticed in them, though. I love the little MSD's that come with them and they're fairly accurate, despite their size.

I don't really have anywhere to put those, so they're staying in the box. Speaking of the boxes, the fact that they use the same size box for a much smaller scale seems to just emphasize how much smaller it is (but I guess it was cheaper to just order more boxes the same size).

I think the NX-01 shuttlepod is my favorite and the one I was most looking forward to. (Unlike Set 1, none of these shuttles were ever made into a Micro Machine). The detail on this one is great.

The Type-15 shuttle pod from TNG is almost as small as a Micro Machine, but looks great too.

The Type-7 shuttle isn't quite as accurate. I don't know why the front window stretches to three-quarters of the way down the side. It's got a very pudgy look and is very "early-TNG" in its shape. (Plus it says "ENTEPRISE" on the back). I'm not going to call Eaglemoss about this, but not the best of the set.

I wasn't all that excited about the "executive shuttle" because I already have the Jenolan. (Why were Kirk and company going up in a civilian shuttle, anyway?) For what it is, however, it's very well done.

I honestly don't know how Eaglemoss stays in business. That expedited shipping isn't through the mail carrier, it is just for them to get off their ass and send the thing out. Maybe around the time you order. $15 for that. Anyone else should skip that scam. I ordered the new Picard badge from FanSets last night, this morning they sent an email that it had been sent complete with tracking number. Roughly 12 hours.

I got the graphic novels they sent me. They are nice, though I have no idea why the covers for each issue are in the back and not with the issues themselves?

That's typical for omnibus versions of miniseries.

Request:
Anybody get the Sarajevo class? if so could you scan/picture the Ortho and other views from the magazine? I'm looking to build it in 3d :) Much thanks!

I was just thinking about what a fitting last product would be—the orchid power leach (phylosian?) from PICARD

This way—our last gift—would be a flower...

Whoops. Too late. I got another shuttle set and two models and got the expedited shipping. Under normal circumstances, I probably wouldn't have, but waiting five weeks for a single model from an eBay dealer in the UK has made me impatient.

Eaglemoss has an orrery set which appeals to my puzzle solving self. However, it is one of those products where you get the pieces one by one over a length of time. So, even though it is tempting, I am like no. I do not want to get into a situation where I am left with a partially completed model and I can not complete it.

I’m dealing with that with the BTTF DeLorean build. It’s a beautiful and highly accurate model but there are now too many gaps in missing parts. It’s been languishing for 6 months now. It is infuriating, considering the monetary investment involved.

Well, some of the stores in my city are reopening, so, to support a local busiess, I picked up a model from my usual store. I considered the Orion ship from TOS-remasted, but it didn't look that great, on closer inspection, so I went with the Batris. Not the most exciting ship, but they did a pretty good job. The weathering looks great, almost like old brickwork. Between that and having an engine block over nacelles, it almost looks like a ship (much like the Merchantman) that belongs in the Star Wars universe, rather than Trek (so perhaps it's fitting that I got it today). ;)

Valkyrie BSG-41 is on Waitlist for UK.
The first reviews (pre-release models) are up for Mondor and Archer's boy toy.
UK email announcing T'Plana-Hath is out.

So much preview, so little ready to buy.
