Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Something else I just noticed with that top view - the grooves in the upper housing of the impulse deck behind the deflection crystal are reversed! The way the light and shadow is being cast, the grooves appear to be sticking up out of the hull and are actually ridges. That is all kinds of wrong, too. FFS! Did they put an intern on this thing? The whole primary hull basically needs to be redone. The bottom registry number also looks too small and the four "landing pads" shouldn't be painted that darkly. Ugh!

so what you're saying is you're gonna get it.

Well, on the positive side the rest of the paint job is actually pretty good and they finally got the nacelles right.

So...

Yeah. :shifty:

Just got my Beyond Enterprise yesterday. Lovely model and certainly an improvement over the original version, but the lack of detail on the saucer's edge, the inside of the nacelle struts and the impulse drive is a bummer. Also, why did they print that weird grid pattern onto the nacelle caps?

The design itself though is much better than Ryan Church's original version. I still think the nacelles should be a little farther apart, though.

Just got mine for the ring ship special.
Ringship! Are you in the U.K., or purchased it from the store? As a subscriber, I get everything months after non-subscribers would get things as individual purchases. Never figured out why. I don't expect the Ringship until mid-late summer, based on historical trends.

I'm a US subscriber. I received the K-7 station around the beginning of February (I think) and just got the email saying I'll be charged for the Ringship around April 23rd.

i got my viper shipping notification yesterday. but this is a star trek board, so let's say it was a ring ship too.

One of the reasons I have held off on getting one of the nu1701 models Eaglemoss has to offer is because I have a decent model which actually is not really a model.

Years ago, I was given my first blu-ray movie as a Christmas gift. It was Star Trek (2009) in a U.S.S. Enterprise ship exclusive packaging. The discs were held in the saucer section. Some of the details the Eaglemoss model(s) lack are present on the Target exclusive packaging. One detail that sticks out is the NCC-1701 on the underside of the stardrive section, and a detailed deflector dish. The ship is roughly the same size as the Eaglemoss ships if not a little bigger. I'll take a picture when I can to show you it's a really decent model.

Also received my first e-mail about the Discovery subscription and my Shenzhou was shipped. Looking forward to having a ship from Discovery. Now I will be anticipating receiving an e-mail about dispatching the Discovery :D

but the defiant looks like it's suffering from the same toy-like quality that i felt ruined voyager.

dat deflector dish looks great tho.

To be fair, the first shots of the Breen ship looked very toy-like at first too.

I got Goroth's Klingon transport today. It's a nice, heavy model. I'll have to break out the blu-rays and watch "Bounty" again to see how it stacks up to the one on screen.

The Romulan scout and Yeager arrived today. For me personally this is probably the dullest two for a long time; maybe since the medusan ship and the horizon. The scout ship is fine but nothing special. For me the Yeager is one ugly lady. Nothing against eaglemoss because it is built really nicely with a lot of detail in place, I’m just not a fan of this kitbash.

It’s considerably larger than the EM specials, I like displaying it with the Kelvin, as they seem to scale well together to my eye. And I concur, it’s probably the best pre-assembled mass-market 09/ID Enterprise model made to date. Fortunately, the ability to hold BluRay discs in the saucer didn’t compromise it too much.

Got them today.

I was pretty meh when the Romulan science vessel was announced but became interested when I read more about it and the Nerada. Pretty stoked with the model now. Due to its lack of windows, you could have it fly in every orientation, eg wings facing up and down like Probert’s super-giant warbird (Tomalak’s Fist). i also love that they reused the mold from the Talon-class ship. It makes for a great comparison side by side. Color scheme is the same, btw.

Love the Yeager. Due to its width, the model is smaller than USS Voyager, and thus smaller than the physical kitbash of Eaglemoss’s Voyager and Val Jean. I was hoping the mag would establish the Yeager class, but it implies the NCC-65674 was a one-off, in-universe. I wonder whether the ship was refitted to Intrepid-class specifications post-war?

Starfleet pulls them apart, finishes construction, and names them both Yeager (USS Yeager & Chuck Yeager) but with new registries? Too bad, I love that frankenship.
