Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Thanks very much. Things do seem to be a bit back on track. No skipped issues and the Specials are happening again, but I'm still waiting for my XL Enterprise-E that I started a separate subscription on, even though others have already received theirs. Typical...

If it wasn't for the fact that the models themselves are so amazing, I would have scrapped the whole thing years ago. But Ben Robinson and his team do such fantastic work, I can't bring myself to vote with my wallet in that way. Further, Eaglemoss plans to start a Battlestar Galactica line soon as a further means to drain my wallet, which I am so on top of when it starts. I just hope they don't get rolling with it until after the Trek line ends. This is a bit of an expensive hobby.

With the regular subscription, the jumbos, and the one-off stuff I know what you mean. When I told my wife about the Discovery subscription starting next year, she just sighed and asked "you're getting those too aren't you ?"

How many ships are there for the BSG collection though?
Galactica, Pegasus, Viper, Viper mk2, Raptor, Cyclon Baseship, Raider, TOS Raider, those ugly little other Cylon ships, Colonial One.... then you'd just have other random Fleet ships, which apart from the Ringship, Cloud 9 and maybe the Olympic Carrier I wouldn't be that bothered about. You could do the Blackbird too I guess.
15/20 issues? I'm not complaining just saying can't see it lasting as long as the Trek collection. Which from my wallet and house's point of view isn't a bad thing!

Same goes for the Alien/Predator ship collection too, I can barely get to 10 ships in my head.

yeah i was just taking some comfort in the fact that both those collections would theoretically only have a few ships i'd want (galactica, pegasus, prometheus, covenant), unlike the nonstop longing and pain in my wallet the star trek collection provides me.

I remember reading somewhere about a Gerry & Sylvia Anderson (Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Space: 1999 etc) model collection. Pretty sure if that got made it would bankrupt me.

Keep in mind we'd get some BSG ships twice in TOS and RDM mode.:guffaw:

As for Predator/Alien, I can think of: Predator ship (P1), L.A. ship (P2), Nostromo, Narcissus, Engineer derelict (A1), Sulaco, (drop ship), (AMV) (A2), Betty, Auriga (A4), Predator mothership (AVP), round Engineer ships, Prometheus, (truck) (Pr), Covenant and drop ship (A:C). Then whatever is the most desirable EU ship?

^ I had to check Youtube for how much you even see of the ship in the opening of Predator 1- about one second  Can't say I'd be that bothered about that one.

I'm still partial to the idea someone had some time ago (in this thread, I think), about having a model collection of ships from all kinds of different sci-fi universes. I guess it would be difficult to figure out the rights for such a thing, which is probably why it will never happen, but it would really be the best of all worlds.

I can think of at least 7 different Colonial Viper models in both The Original Series and The Reimagined Series. And that's excluding the early "WW2" and "Jet" Vipers.

Same goes for the Alien/Predator ship collection too, I can barely get to 10 ships in my head.

13 spacecraft from the Alien/Prometheus films alone:

Nostromo (Alien)
Derelict (Alien)
Narcissus (Alien)
Refinery (Alien)
Sulaco (Aliens)
Dropship (Aliens)
Auriga (Alien: Resurrection)
The Betty (Alien: Resurrection)
Prometheus (Prometheus)
Juggernaut (Prometheus)
Covenant (Alien: Covenant)
Lander One (Alien: Covenant)
Cargo Transporter Sled (Alien: Covenant)

About 4 more from the Predator/AvP films? A lot more if we add ground vehicles as well.

Babylon 5 has a large number of ships and some very interesting designs. I would definitely buy most (if not all) of them if made. Don't know if Eaglemoss will see it as a popular and profitable franchise though.
I would be tempted. I have a Starfury Mk 1 model and a B5 station model that I built from the Revell kits. I find B5's alien spaceships more diverse and interesting in shape and concept than Star Trek's alien spaceships. But as you state, is there enough fan interest now to make such a line commercially viable?

They would need to build all the models from scratch, most likely. The originals probably don't exist anymore or, if they do, they're in a format that is totally incompatible with any modern rendering system. Either way, I suspect not enough ROI to make it worth it for Eaglemoss to undertake.

Has anyone gotten the magazine for the USS Titan? I got the ship but there was no mention of a magazine being shipped later with the invoice.

I have, came togetehr with the model, but you're not the only person I've heard had that happen to. (I ordered direct from the UK eaglemoss website if it helps)

Most US people only got the ship, on my form it said it's expected to be shipped separately. I've been told we can expect it in October.

I only got the ship. I think the receipt said something about a follow-up shipment for the magazine but I'm not holding my breath.
