On the Official Starships page of Memory Alpha, the Nebula-class Melbourne (NCC-62043, 4 nacelles) has been added but without source.
I think they said the Phoenix is forthcoming, but does anyone really like the Melbourne variant? It's dubious in canon after DS9 made the Melbourne an Excelsior class ship anyway! I'd wait for confirmation before believing that.On the Official Starships page of Memory Alpha, the Nebula-class Melbourne (NCC-62043, 4 nacelles) has been added but without source.
As would I.(Who am I kidding, I would probably end up buying both.)

I can see the pylons curving inward over time.

Don't worry, Eaglemoss designed it so the ports lie flat.
The novels explain the EXC!Melbourne was about to be decommissioned, and replaced by the NEB!Melbourne. The latter was to be Riker's new ship. Both were rushed into battle and both were lost.Actually, I think I remember reading that the wrecked "study model" used for BOBW was reused in the background for "Emissary", just not as the Melbourne. Plus another intact model sat in Sisko's office for several years.
I understand that they used the Excelsior model for "Emissary" because it was more detailed (at least until they refurbished the Nebula model to be the Farragut for "Generations"), but honestly it would've made things simpler if they'd just named the ship something else.
I've had mine for, what now, over two years and it's never shown any type of bending or warping on the bottom struts. It's pretty solidly constructed so I wouldn't worry too much about that. However, I agree that it should have had a stand of some kind. It sticks out from the rest of the collection because of that.Hmmm, from the reviews/images I have seen, it looks like the ventral docking pylons are curved inwards ever so slightly more than the dorsal pylons that the bottoms aren't parallel with a flat surface - or am I wrong/just imagining things? Or is it on a per-model basis (as with all the models in the collection)? I'd really love DS9, but this little issue has put me on the wall about it, wondering why they'd do a thing like that (if they actually have).
That's certainly the case with mine - both the top and bottom docking ports don't lie parallel, they curve inwards towards the station. It's not too bad, but the model clearly sits on the heels of the docking ports.Hmmm, from the reviews/images I have seen, it looks like the ventral docking pylons are curved inwards ever so slightly more than the dorsal pylons that the bottoms aren't parallel with a flat surface - or am I wrong/just imagining things?
