Star Trek Series Music Poll

I thought it would be interesting to see which Star Trek series music people like the best. I have a couple of mixed soundtracks, and I tend to be partial towards DS9 and Enterprise. TOS and TNG seemed to be a bit cheezy, except for the irrefutable Orchestra Suite from the Inner Light, and when it comes to Voyager...I am not that familiar with the music. So if you want, post your favorites, dislikes or thoughts...I would love to hear them!

ENT had the best score, at least in the earlier seasons. It kind of became generic Trek as he show progressed.

That is quite disappointing. I did not realize he did that. Is there a specific article or source you know of referencing this information?

I definately agree with you, but I would also say that TNG's first two years had some pretty good scores also. Listening to the Ron Jones CD collection recently reminded me of that.

I definitely like the music on TNG the best. I like Enterprise's opening music as well. As for Voyager, it is alright but I find it a bit cheesy. I don't care for the TOS music much and I've never watched DS9.

It was well documented during TNG; I'm sure it will come up in a google search. I believe the phrase "sonic wallpaper" was actually how Berman described it.

As much as I love TNG and DS9, I'd have to say Star Trek's music is the most memorable. Some of that music starts playing in my head when I'm in traffic.

I think when it comes down to it, we probably choose our favorites by what series we watched the most and hold most dear to us. Other than that, it might just be a matter of style.

I really enjoy the style for Enterprises soundtrack but it is by no means one of my top favorite series. I think I would enjoy TOS soundtrack more if I grew up watching it. I was one of those born in the 80's kids that watched everything after TOS, and never really watched all the episodes. I do want to give TOS a chance though. They always seemed cheezy and corny to me, but lately I've been wanting to watch them all so I can get more of an understanding of Star Trek history and knowledge and such. Maybe it will lose it's cheese factor if I give it a chance.
