Star Trek: Renegades

I thought that too. In REN, all the returning actors were playing the original characters.

I'm holding out hope for some of the actors. Everyone gets better with experience, and it should help if the direction and editing also keeps improving.

No they're not. Gary Graham and Courtney Peldon both play a different character than their official Trek appearances.

Wow, this is cool news - I like Terry and look forward to seeing her in that. She will most likely play a new character, maybe some competition to Lexa...

My hope would be that the pros will lift the amateurs to a better performance. Since they are planning a series, they hopefully have more time filming it. I heard the movie was filmed in 13 days, which might also explain the slight problems with continuity and camera coverage. Hopefully they will learn from that.

I made it to the 15 minute mark but I just can't watch this. I will give it a try again. I hope to enjoy it.

I haven't seen any other fan productions but I quite enjoyed this. It definitely felt like watching star trek. The ship fx were great. If the cast was able to get into a groove with multiple episodes I think they could also improve as well as the editing. I particularly liked that guy that played Icheb. Thumbs up.

I couldn't make it all the way through Of Gods & Men, and I couldn't make it all the way through this.

I really can't fault the amateur actors, though the presence of all the experienced actors really shined a light on that distinction. And I was excited by the space effects that I saw.

But the writing, the writing. To be fair to the actors, you just can't deliver some lines in a natural way when they are written so badly.

And that certain (I can't remember how to do spoiler tags), um, relative? Oy.

To be honest, I've never really embraced the fan films, as hard as I've tried. But … no.

I've made it to the 30 minute mark. It's getting better. Manu's performance is impressive, indeed.

Well, not having much else better to do I rewatched this. Oddly, it was better the second time around (of course not being half asleep might have helped).

One thing I noticed was that Wilkinson seemed to be channeling Sarah Michelle Geller's Buffy. She even had some of the mannerisms down.
