Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Really excited to go see that set in person, since Universal is one of the closest studios to me! I've got my problems with season 3 of Picard, but I have to admit they put the effort into that set. If only the scripts got the same attention.

Axanar: The Next Generation.
Betcha that's exactly why the Ent-D Bridge rebuild will only be a special display piece for events like this.

Kit Stølen, the Art Director on Season 3 posted this John Eaves concept art of the Queen's Borg Cube for Season 3. What's interesting, it's labelled as 301.

So were the Borg originally not going to be a secret most of the season? Or maybe the concept art is just mislabelled.

It looks like something assimilated Romulans or Romulan xBs would fly.

Michelle Hurd and Michael Dorn were on the D-Con Podcast today, and Dorn says Patrick Stewart wasn't initially happy with the idea of bringing the TNG crew back for Season 3.

Which makes sense, based on BTS comments he made during the making of Season 1.

I still wish they had listened to Sir Patrick when he said no to the TNG crew returning. Yes, the first two seasons weren't exactly brilliant, but at least the show was its own thing. And then season 3 with its badfic-written-by-fanboy plot walked in and all over quite a few things the first two seasons had established. I just wish the show had gone out after season 3 (like it was always planned to do) pursuing its own thing instead of making its third season nothing more than a TNG nostalgia fest.

I am glad the TNG characters came back. It gave us the proper ending that Nemesis never did due to it being such a terrible movie. Plus after the disaster of Picard season 2 it made sense to just make the final season as a TNG celebration season. All the actors are still alive but getting up their in age. It was now(well then) or never so it was the right thing to do.
