Seeing as the TOS visuals appeared in TOS, TNG, DS9 and ENT, it's pretty safe to say they'll always be canon.
They were Tal Shiar agents
I'm pretty sure Picard knows that.
Yeah, in the comic, they outright told him to try and gain his trust. With the logic that a Tal Shiar agent would never reveal their identity.
They wanted to escape from the Empire because they fell in love, which is a no-no in the agency according to them.
Timeline split. Enterprise and Discovery take place in a separate timeline from TOS.

I haven't wanted to open it until I saw the episode my self, not wanting spoilers.
Now that I've seen ep 1 I want to read the discussion.
However the thread opens with this warning:

Are people disusing (spoiling) the next two episodes (which were also shown at the premier) in there?

Yes, were a bunch of questions asked and then answered. Fortunately, the poster who had seen the first three episodes put all his responses in hidden spoiler tags. Safe to go into the thread as long as you don't start 'popping tags'.

I'm going go watch it tonight with my lady who is no Trekkie at all, but I was able to convince her watching some of TNGs episodes and now she is interested in watching PICARD, because she found the trailers very appealing and cinematic.

I will try hard to keep convincing her and she already began to see that there is so much more to Trek. I told her what I was able to learn from Trek for life since I was a child and what it means to me.
Because of the fact that she knows that I'm a Trekkie since my childhood, she already figured out that this means more to me than any other brand or fictional continuum.
Maybe someday there will be a complete assimilation of hers into Trek.

Just saw the first episode on Amazon Prime. I have to say: modern TV has become faster and more cinematic. I miss good old Trek on TV. You have to be an Android to follow the fast combat scenes. Old DS9 changeling stunts and battle scenes in space seem to be obsolete......

Although it's title is labeled for episode 1 spoilers and discussion.The thread inside has been conflated with episodes 1. 2. & 3. discussions and spoilers.
Which are freely being discussed, or being brought in from threads they saw elsewhere.
And although those who did see all three eps, seem to want to cautiously put spoiler tags, others seem to goad them into posting more and seem incapable separating.
Which is fine it's a spoiler thread,
Just wish it was clearly labeled as spoilers and discussion of all 3 episodes.
And there was a separate one for those just wanting to discuss what they saw in ep 1.
Although I'm new here, and still trying to find my way around.

Sorry for the part I played in this. I tried to limit spoilers only to direct questions people asked and only under the "protection" of spoiler tags.
But it's certainly plausible that spoilers did bleed out in subtle ways as many people digested and internalized those spoiled facts.
So, again, sorry for spoiling the conversation for you.
